1. Avril Lavigne, “When You’re Gone”
I hope your eyes don’t pool with tears once you hear this one. It’s just too much for me to handle now that Harambe, aka the Harambae, is gone.
2. Sia, “Bird Set Free”
Just like Sia’s bird, Harambe has been set free. May he have all the children to throw around in Harambeaven.
3. Stromae, “Papaoutai”
Oh, yeah, we’re going into French territory. Don’t be fooled by its upbeat synths; once you translate the lyrics, you’ll realize how heartbreaking “Papaoutai” really is. (On a serious note, in this song, Stromae talks about his dad, who was killed in the Rwandan genocide in 1994. So, do make sure that you’re being respectful!)
4. This person’s parody of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”
Seriously, how does anyone have so much time for this? (Then again, I had enough time to write an article about songs to listen to while thinking about Harambe, so you got me there. I'm definitely not proud of myself).
On another note, if you’ve been living under a rock for the past 41 years, here’s the actual song.
