If you're like me, then you're constantly looking up tour dates for when your favorite artists play in your city. Living in Chicago can expose you to a great music scene, but some music festivals are more advertised than others. As a result, here is a guide to some upcoming music festivals and line ups.
1. AAHH! Fest
Hosted by Chicago native Common, AAHH! Fest takes place annually in Union Park. Usually happening in late September, it's a good way to celebrate one of the last months it's still nice to stay outdoors, and in the past have featured various Hip Hop & R&B artists such as Ice Cube, R Kelly, Jeremiah and The Internet.
2. Spring Awakening
EDM fans unite! In only three months, Spring Awakening will be back at the Addams-Medill Park in just a few months. At this point, the line up is finalized and tickets and passes are available. This music festival attracts thousands of people, so buy your tickets before they sell out!
3. World Music Festival
Music is known to transcend borders, so the best way to learn about new music could be by attending the World Music Festival. Held on September 7th to September 23rd 2018, various preformers from around the world will come to Chicago. Commonly represented countries include India, Africa, Ireland and China. These artists are due to perform in various venues throughout the city. The best part of this festival, other than exposure to new music, is the fact that unlike most music festivals, most of these concerts are free to attend!
