New York never sleeps, Seattle has hipsters, LA has celebrities, New Orleans has Mardi Gras, Miami has South Beach and Boston has whatever Boston has but If you aren’t from the Chicago area, I feel bad for you. Chicago is the best city in the United States. I may be biased considering I have lived 15 minutes away from this city my whole life, but I have seen all of the other major cities and they don’t even compare. Chicago is the best city and that’s the truth. We have everything all those other cities have, just better. If you still need some further convincing let's see what the wonderful “Windy City” has to offer.

Lets start off with the location. We may be in Illinois but not only do we have all four seasons, shoutout to fall right now, but we also have Lake Michigan. Yeah, that’s right, the best great lake there is. Imagine boating with the skyline behind you, yeah that’s right, think about it, imagine it. It’s unreal. The skyline is beautiful, the city is beautiful. It’s cleaner than New York. Shoutout to alleys. We have Navy Pier. Tell me you don’t wanna go on that giant Ferris Wheel. We have museums upon museums. Science and Industry, Field, Planetarium, The Zoo, The Shedd, etc. Seriously, though, the Science and Industry museum is so legit. 10/10 recommend. We also have Lollapalooza. Lolla is four days of exhaustion. Walking 10 miles every day, trying to stay hydrated, almost missing the train, and having a ringing in your ear every night but still being excited to do it all again the next day. That’s Lolla. Go to it. It’s an experience. Just do it. Take my word. I am always right.

We also have the best people. Nice, wonderful, helpful, genuine people. One time I was walking downtown and forgot a coat. I was absolutely freezing. Some girl had a big puffy coat on with a fleece underneath and she gave me her fleece! Can you believe that? She gave me her fleece. I was like “Dude it’s okay, I don’t want to just take your fleece from you,” and she was like “Please take it.” What a nice lady. Some people are just fantastic. Also, some awesome celebrities are born and raised in this amazing place. Bill Murray, Kanye West, Harrison Ford, Robin Williams, etc. Also although he wasn’t born in Chi-town shout out to Obama. I saw him once at a gym downtown before he was President. I know I am so cool, it’s insane. If these people don’t show you that Chicago rocks then just stop reading. Bye, you're weird. No one likes you. See ya. Okay, let’s continue…

Now, Chicago sports fans are genuine sports fans. We have the best teams, one being the Blackhawks. Hockey is our sport. I mean other teams don’t even compare. The United Center is a place for champions. Not only are we one of the original six NHL teams, but winning the Stanley Cup six times speaks for itself. We rock. That’s all there is to it. Some of our sports teams aren’t the best right now but they were at one time. Shoutout to The Bulls. It doesn’t matter how good they are. Once a Chicago sports fan, always a Chicago Sports fan.

But what this article is really about right now. What our city is most proud of. What we have been waiting patiently for, for 108 years. The Chicago Cubs won the god damn World Series. 2016 will go down as the year we broke the curse. No more Billy Goat. The underdogs did it, we did it. Chicago is the best city because we come together for our teams and for our people. “Go Cubs Go” played on repeat, we were watching on the edge of our seats as the game tied, they called a rain delay and it progressed to a 10th inning. Bryant and Rizzo jersey’s shielded people’s eyes. (Side note: Bryant is so hot. Okay. carry on.) We prayed for our team and then they won! They won and I have never seen so many people cry in excitement. Wrigley Field was packed, Green St. in Champaign, IL was packed with people in jerseys screaming “Go Cubs Go.” I’m still shaking just thinking about it. The energy and love people have for the Cubs is palpable. Cubs fans are real fans. Chicago fans are real fans.

You are one helluva city, Chicago. You may not get the wrap that New York or LA gets but you deserve it. If you still don’t believe me go see it for yourself. Not only can you get everything in Chicago that you get in other cities but the atmosphere is better, the people are better, Chicago is better. Fly that W, people, Fly that dang W.
