If you had access to the Internet this past month, then you might have noticed that the world has lost a lot of great people. They were all friends, brothers, daughters, sons and maybe fathers or mothers or husbands or wives. They touched peoples lives and they left their mark. We also have to remember that the world lost some citizens who were not household names but touched lives and left their marks on the world as well.
What I'm trying to say is: Life is too short.
Yes, I know you've heard this saying but those words really hit me hard last week when I mourned the deaths of some artists that really helped to shape my life and who I've become. Or saw that someone lost a friend or family member in a similar way that I have and felt for them because I had been through similar heartache. I watched the Internet fill with tributes to them all and people thanking them for their time here on earth and for being their friend.
It made me wonder when the last time I had seen some of the people I love and even made me think about people from my past, whether we left each others' lives on good terms or not. I am a strong believer in everything happens for a reason and everyone comes into our lives for a reason. That being said, we need to cherish every moment of our lives and every person we interact with.
Every moment is a chance to learn something new or to be inspired. You could become inspired to change your ways, help someone out or start a new adventure. Who really knows where life is going to take us, but we need to pay attention to really understand why it goes in the direction it does.
When I say we need to cherish everyone in our lives, I really do mean everyone. They are there to teach us something whether or not we enjoy having them around. It could be kindness, patience or just how to work through the hard things like an adult, because chances are one day you'll have a tiny human needing you to handle their problems so you'll need to be able to handle and take on your own.
What I mean by all this is let it go, stop caring about the little bothers of life, apologize for your wrongs and sometimes just suck it up. Life is unfortunately not always rainbows and butterflies and we just can't always know when it will end or know when someone will be taken from us. If we let the "debby downers" in our lives or the bad situations take control of us, we will lose sight of what and who really makes this crazy ride worth it all.
So take chances, even if they seem crazy or could crash and burn. Hug your friends, kiss your family and talk to strangers (they could become your new best friend). Plan a wild adventure you never thought you'd go on with your friends, ask that girl out (or boy!) or go after your dream job. Yes, that dream job that seems just out of reach. Life is crazy, life is short and we all need to live it to the fullest and make the best of it.
