As a college student and someone that also tries to be financially responsible, it is tough to come up with things to do for minimal prices that are still fun during the summer. Here are some things I have thought about doing this summer. Hopefully, they ignite some of your own ideas of things to do within your friend group!
1. Beach day
Going to the beach for the day is always a great time. It is cheap to find someone to drive down the shore or to take public transportation, and most beach tags for one day are minimally priced! Nothing is better than just laying around, listening to good music while at the beach for the day with friends! Get out in that summer air and take advantage of the beautiful weather at least once
2. Summer concerts
This one is not always cheap, but absolutely always a good time. Gather up as many people as you can, situate a ride or other form of transportation, get a ticket and a tailgate going and your day is set. I personally live for country concerts in the blazing sun, surrounded by friends and family I love. Those are memories that are absolutely irreplaceable.
3. Go to your local park for the day
Everyone has that one neighborhood park, be it big or small, that people go to randomly whenever the sun is out. Take advantage of that local gem! Stop at a Wawa on the way, bring some games and a radio, and you are set for hours of fun and again, for close to nothing monetarily!
See, there are three ideas right off the bat, without leaving a large radius or spending a lot of money. The memories you make during the summer are exactly what will get you through the freezing winter, so be sure to have many stockpiled up in your mind! Let yourself enjoy the carefree attitude that comes about with the heat and lose yourself for a bit in some form of outdoor activity, I promise you will not regret it!
