Riverbend, the infamous music festival every person from Chattanooga, Dalton, Rossville, and any nearby city waits all summer for. Chattanooga's one and only homecoming. This eight-day long redneck dream has 5 stages with over 100 artists with its main stage a two-story boat, is one of the many things Chattanooga is known for. They have had performers like Brett Young, Hank Williams Jr, to Flo Rida and Cee Lo Green. Every night has a different theme for just about everyone.
If you have never been I highly recommend it but if you have or plan to go you will hear or see one of these 18 things.
Denim
There will be denim everywhere. On everyone. It is a see of jeans and cut offs, just be prepped. You will also probably see a lot more of people's bodies than you ever wanted to see.
Cow Boy Boots
The infamous cow boy boots that every girl breaks out twice a year for the Riverbend Festival and the Yate's Rodeo. Still not broken in and still brown and shiny but they sure do go with all that denim.
America Flags
Do not worry if you miss the giant American Flag hanging down at the gate when you enter because it will be on someone's shirt or shorts. 'Merica am I right?
Beer. Everywhere
Underaged or over the age of 21 I guarantee they will have a beer in their hand, especially a bud light, considering they are one of their biggest sponsors. If they do not have a beer in their hands they are probably on their way to buy one at any of the numerous venders located every 3 feet.
Smoke
When you enter you will walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke and that is only the beginning, it will be everywhere. Cigarettes are everywhere just like beer, consider this your warning if you have asthma.
Crop Tops
Every girl at riverbend will be in a crop top, all of them. If they are not then they are in a shirt with a flag on it. Maybe you will get lucky and see a girl with an American Flag crop top.
"How many tokens do you have left"
Every token is worth 50 cents and you have to turn your money in to get tokens in order to buy anything inside from water to funnel cakes
"We are by the boats"
Everyone has at least said this once to describe where they are and let me be the first to tell you, it is absolutely no help when trying to find someone considering the stage is a boat
" I don't know this song"
Even I have said this one before, most people go to riverbend to socialize and not the music
" I just saw ____"
This is Chattanooga's homecoming so you will see everyone from Chattanooga and then some.
"Do you have any service?"
Lets be real there is over 600,000 people go, no one has service so chances you have to stick with your friends are very high!
"Do you want a lemonade?"
Riverbend is known for its amazing frozen lemonades and if you have not already I urge you to try one.
Cut off shorts
Every girl will come to riverbend in the shortest pair of shorts they own.
"Yeah those kids are from *insert high school name*"
You can immediately tell what high school those people went to. There aren't that many to choose from anyways!
"Why did you park so far away?"
The closest parking is 4 blocks away, we didn't have a choice
"Do I still look okay?"
No one looks okay, we are all dying of heat stroke
"I can't stop sweating."
Everyone is sweating, you are not the only one I promise
"What did you say? I can't hear you."
It is a music festival we did not really come to hear you talk
