Are you a fan of the Murder Mystery or Thriller Genre? Do you like a show that is a little light-hearted and different than the repeated Law and Order, CSI and numerous other crime shows? Then I have a great suggestion. A show that is both filled with mystery, drama and witty banter.
Bored with his success and on the market for something new, mystery novelist Richard (Rick) Castle, played by Nathan Fillion. Teams up with NYPD Homicide Detective Kate Beckett, played by Stana Katic. To solve the case of a copycat serial killer who imitates the murder scenes from Rick’s books. A complete man’s man, Rick proves to be innovative, and skilled with a free-form creative thinking approach to crime fighting.
His years of developing believable fictional characters for his books have aided in molding his mind into a criminal profiler. But there is more to this wealthy playboy, as Rick reveals a new detective novel series based on Detective Beckett and her crime fighting. It doesn’t look like he will be going anywhere anytime soon as he discovered his muse. Let the fun of mysteries and complex relationships begin!
If you are a part of the forever living Firefly fan group, you are sure in for a treat! Bringing Nathan Fillion back for a staring role is an absolute gem and a masterpiece on ABC’s part. Fillion is perfect for the role of Richard Castle. The series brings a strong, multi-dimensional cast that adds an organic, real-life, feel to the show that fit together like a strange family. I enjoy how quirky, clever, and sarcastic the humor can be.
It is not like all the other crime shows on the television these days that are overwhelming and annoyingly repetitive. The cast really helps define the show and separate it from any others. Being a fan of Mal Reynolds from Firefly, admittedly it is one of the main things that caught my eye and reeled me into the show seeing Fillion in another starring role.
In 2009, the series ran tell May 16th of 2016, with 173. The show is lasting. As you find yourself watching re-runs again and again. With a Metacritic score of 8.4 out of 10; IMBD score of 8.2 out of 10; and a 75% on the Tomatometer from Rotten Tomatoes. It is without a doubt a show worth looking into for your next binge. It would be a crime not to check it out.
