5 Times Carrie Bradshaw Was Savage Enough To Say What We Were Only Thinking

We are all thinking it, it just sounds better when she says it.

While some of us have the confidence and charisma that Carrie Bradshaw had throughout all of Sex and the City, some of us just simply don’t. This does not, however, mean we do not say all the things she says in our heads. She is a role model for many and with good reason. She is a badass writer with an impeccable sense of style and continues to break guys’ hearts along the way.

So, here are five (of the many) times Carrie Bradshaw said what all of us were already thinking.

1. Being Real

Who doesn’t wish they could just tell it how it is at all times? We all have that someone that will act fake to our face and hate us behind our back so why do we take it? We should all take this tip from Carrie and just be straight up with people. Just because they are fake, doesn’t mean we have to be. It’ll make you feel like a badass too, which is always a plus.

2. The Perfect Sarcasm

While this may be petty it is oh so important. Sarcasm is key in getting your point across without being as feisty or angry as you really are. Let’s face it, even if you told a guy exactly what you meant, chances are he wouldn’t understand so you might as well have some fun with it. Carrie is the queen of sarcasm and I would bow down to her for it any day.

3. Major mood after an underwhelming night out

This one is a favorite of mine because it is a common thought among me and my roomies. The wasted calories from alcohol and a good outfit are all too familiar. Many times we find ourselves thinking wow we should have just stayed home but instead we say, “Yeah, it was fun, nothing special but fun.” Not every party is worth raving about and that is okay. Let's face it, sometimes we just wish we had spent the night watching a chick flick and eating ice cream with your girlfriends. (cliché but we all do it)

4. Hopeless Romantic

The romantics in us all hope that this will end like a MerDer "Grey’s Anatomy" moment where she tells him to choose her but that doesn’t always happen. It is hard to convey your emotions but Carrie does it and we have to commend her for that. We need to stick up for ourselves and make ourselves heard. We are worth listening to so if you have been holding something in and think you deserve more, say it. Say it for everyone to hear.

5. We are powerful

The ultimate girl power moment. We are free and we do not need a man to tell us where to go. If we find one that wants to take on the journey with us, then that is a win-win situation. One thing I learned from Carrie and many other role models of mine is to never ever settle. Do not settle for the guy that just gives you attention or wants you on his own terms. We are powerful women and settling is simply beneath us. The fairytale does exist, do not let people tell you differently.

“The most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And, if you find someone to love the you that you love, well, that’s just fabulous.” — Carrie Bradshaw

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
