Being a fake blonde is a full-time job. Spending a small fortune to basically destroy your hair, having to spend another small fortune on hair care products, and the worst part of it all, keeping up with those horrifying roots. The scariest sight for a fake blonde is to see those pesky yellow streaks coming through.
Fear no more because I have the perfect cure that will have you looking as icy as possible. A blonde is not all it's cut out to be. But with the proper tools, products, and TLC, you'll be looking good and your hair will feel better!
Choose the right shampoo and conditioner.
For shampoo, I use the Fanola No Yellow Shampoo. Leaving this in your hair BEFORE you hop in the shower for around 10 minutes will have it looking icier in just one use.
For conditioner, I like to use OGX Biotin & Collagen Conditioner. This conditioner smells AMAZING (not kidding, you will become addicted), and it keeps blonde hair thick and full.
Invest in hair masks.
I use two different hair masks twice a week. One day, I will use the Fanola No Yellow Mask to fight yellow strands and brighten my hair up even more. The other mask I use is the It's a 10 Haircare Miracle Hair Mask. This has been a lifesaver to me and hydrates my hair instantly.
Opt for leave-in products.
The first leave-in product I use is Not Your Mother's Blonde Moment. Spraying a generous amount into my damp hair and then combing through helps seal the icy blonde I just created with the previous products.
For frizzy pieces and breaking, I use OGX Nourishing + Coconut milk Anti-Breakage Serum. A couple of pumps of this prevents my hair from being a complete frizz ball when it dries.
The final product I use is the simplest one of all: coconut oil. Coconut oil is a hit or miss for hair use. If you have thick hair, then you will love it. Unfortunately, if your hair is thin, it will leave your hair looking greasy. Use it with discretion!
Use as little heat as possible when styling.
The final step in keeping blonde hair icy is to use as little heat on it as possible. I'd be out of my mind to believe anyone would completely ditch the heat just from reading this, but at least make the effort to use less of it! Even using heat at a lower temperature will help. The higher the temp, the more it destroys the icy effect.
