Movies centering around the holidays are always the best ones. Whether they're emotional or funny, you can never go wrong with throwing whatever Christmas movie you have into the DVD player or pulling it up on Netflix. Here are the best Holiday movies ranked, try to get through everyone during this holiday season.

10. "The Nightmare Before Christmas"

This family classic is a must watch for both kids and adults of all ages. The heartwarming story of Jack who just wanted to be Santa goes awry.

9. "Home Alone" / "Home Alone 2"

The notorious little bugger has found himself getting lost not once but twice. Luckily, he has some tricks up his sleeve as he is forced to hold down his house as he is followed by two robbers looking to foil Christmas.

8. "A Christmas Carol"

This animated classic is well done by the genius Jim Carrey who plays the infamous Scrooge. As he is the grouch that everyone knows, he is visited by three ghosts who change his mind and the outlook he has on life.

7. "The Santa Clause"

Tim Allen stars as Santa as he stumbles upon an unfortunate turn of events that for a short time separate him from his son. However, his role of Santa is done very well, and Christmas is saved for the world to enjoy.

The animated classic is a must watch, if you don't know the storyline, you have some homework.

This lovable snowman is a savior to children who could never enjoy snow. He makes sacrifices for the love of Christmas.

This family is rather dysfunctional and gives lots of laughs for the whole entire family to enjoy.

3. "Dr. Suess' How The Grinch Stole Christmas"

Ah, the Grinch. I can't think of a more lovable villain than the green monster who overlooks Whoville. The villain turned hero never fails to warm hearts.

2. "Elf"

Will Ferrell is a master of comedy in this comedy that never fails to make me laugh every couple of minutes. Buddy is such a funny lead character and will always be known for his role in finding a home and saving Christmas.

1. "A Christmas Carol"

The granddaddy of them all for good reason, This family oriented classic is one that you can't hate. The comedic genius of the main character Ralphy is unforgettable and everyone always remembers the Red Ryder BB gun.
