It's Okay To Be Single

Life is scary, but if you can't face it by yourself you won't be able to face it with someone else.

Being single is never easy. The thought of being alone makes some happy, and others afraid. But being single is SO important. How do you know who you are if you aren’t by yourself? I fully believe there is a soul mate for every person out there, but you don’t need to jump from relationship to relationship until you find that person. It’s kind of disgusting if you think about it. That person will come along when God is ready for them to come along, and I feel sorry for people who don’t know that.

BE YOURSELF. FIND YOURSELF. If you don’t know who you are, how can you give your full self to the RIGHT person?

Being alone isn’t scary, it’s a part of life. Just like being born and dying is. Sitting in your room watching movies and crying by yourself isn’t a bad thing, it’s necessary in life. Of course people sleep around, but hey if that helps you find your true self then you do you. Some people may get used to the idea of being alone, and being afraid of letting someone in, but that’s okay. Working with the other person to break down those walls will make you stronger as an individual and as a couple. When you’re single, you aren’t actually alone though. You have friends, family, and pets to keep you company. It’s okay to do things by yourself when you’re single, and it’s okay to go out with your friends and have a great time. Find something that you like.

I’ve only been single for 2 months since my last breakup, but I have learned so much about the world, relationships, and myself as a person. I’m only 19, I have my WHOLE life ahead of me. So right now I’m content with sitting on my back porch and losing myself in a book. Right now I’m content with working my life away, and spending time with my family. That’s what is important in life. And when the right guy comes along I will be ready to give my REAL self, and full self to him.

So don’t be discouraged to be single. It’s not all that bad. Take some time and find things you enjoy. Whether you discover that you like to hike, or travel, or go to amusement parks or something, just find it and do it. You will be so much better off than jumping into other relationships. You may joke that you’ll be alone forever, but God won’t let that happen. You do you.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
