When my roommate asked if I wanted to watch "Buzzfeed Unsolved" with her the other night I honestly wasn't really looking forward to it. I get super scared when anything remotely spooky is involved (I'm still not 100% sure why Halloween is my favorite holiday) and of course she wanted to watch all of these episodes at night. Fast forward to a few days and many episodes later, I'm digging this show and I might have to go back from the beginning and watch everything.
Ryan and Shane, the show's hosts offer supernatural and true crime varieties of unsolved mysteries from history and manage to make them interesting and not super scary. Ryan is always freaked out so I really relate to that, and Shane brings a sarcastic and unbothered presence to the show. They're truly a dynamic duo and even though all of their investigations remain unsolved, they still create something that all kinds of people will enjoy. These are just some of the best episodes of "Buzzfeed Unsolved."
1. "The Haunted Halls of Waverly Hills Hospital" (Supernatural) Season 2 Episode 4
This was the first episode of "Buzzfeed Unsolved" I ever watched and honestly it almost scared me away. I got a little too freaked out at the dead tuberculosis patients and the overall sense of supernatural beings lurking around an old sanatorium. I still don't know how Ryan and Shane can sleep in these places.
2. "The Spontaneous Human Combustion Of Mary Reeser" (Supernatural) Season 2 Episode 7
This was a super short episode but I was completely skeptical the whole time. There's no way some woman just spontaneously combusted???
3. "The Bizarre Voodoo World Of New Orleans" Season 2 Episode 10
I really liked this episode even though I was a little sketched out from time to time. I think voodoo is interesting and I love New Orleans so I thought this was a great episode.
4. "The Odd Vanishing of Amelia Earhart" Season 2 Episode 5
This has probably been my favorite episode I've watched so far. The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Amelia Earhart has always been something I like to learn about so it was fun to hear Ryan and Shane's theories and comments.
5. "The Tragic Murder Of JonBenét Ramsey" Season 2 Episode 4
Oh my gosh this episode was so wild. This young beauty queen was murdered in her own house, basically while her parents were home and no one saw anyone come in or out of the house??? How does that even happen?
6. "The Bizarre Road Trip Of A Missing Family" Season 2 Episode 3
This was another short episode but there was so much packed into it. The fact that it involved a whole family and it was somewhat recent just made it even more puzzling and interesting.
7. "The Strange Drowning of Natalie Wood" Season 2 Episode 7
This episode had so many people involved, celebrities no less, and it definitely seemed like there was some foul play going on.
8. "The Suspicious Assassination of JFK" (True Crime) Season 2 Episode 10
Everyone has learned about the JFK assassination in school but the theories and conspiracies go way past what we all thought.
9. "The Demonic Goatman's Bridge" Season 3 Episode 4
Shane had me cracking up the whole time during this episode, he's just always so fearless and unbothered. When they broke out the Ouija board I was so scared though so hopefully they didn't unlock a world of demons.
10. "The Subterranean Terrors of the London Tombs" Season 3 Episode 10
The last five minutes of this episode had me so stressed, Ryan gets so scared and I can 100% relate.
11. "Unsolved: The Legend of Krampus"
When I saw they were doing an episode on Krampus, I got so excited because I've always thought that topic was super interesting. Sadly, the video was super short but I really like how it was animated!
Overall, "Buzzfeed Unsolved" is an amazing show, even if they never solve anything. I'm going to rewatch all the episodes I'm sure at some point, but I may or may not have to sleep with some lights on.
