For a while I have been looking at my closet hating all of my clothing, except for a select few items. I love clothes, but I don’t always have the money to buy new ones, so as a result, I just stare at the stuff I don’t want to wear and end up wearing the same thing over and over again. I want to be able to mix it up, but to do that I need to clear the closet.

A few weeks ago my friend told me about the app Poshmark. It’s a convenient app where you can buy and sell clothes and as a result would help me clear my closet to make room for the new items I want. The way it works is that you take pictures of your clothing, list the size and price, and then list the items to be sold. You can follow people, like there items, and share their clothes to get more people to view them. So, I have listed all the clothing that I want to try to get rid of, which is about 40 items and then it is a waiting game. For some reason, going into this app I thought that my clothes would disappear a lot quicker; however, this is not the case, which is obvious now. Not everyone is going to like your clothes and buy them away from you the minute you post them and that is fine, because it is actually really rewarding when someone does buy them. When you post the price, Poshmark does take some of the money for their cut, but you do get a good portion of the money for the price you list.

I have currently only sold two of my items and have not made much money of them, because I did not list them for very much, but I don’t really care about the money. I care more about the fact that someone is going to get more use out of the item than I am, and I get to clear a place in my closet for something new or nothing at all. So for any of you out there that want to get rid of some clothes or jewelry or really anything, this app is something you should try out. This app is something that I would recommend to all my friends just to try it out. I love seeing the notifications of people liking and sharing my clothes; it’s just plain satisfying. Each sale is super exciting, too, because someone actually wants to buy your clothes. It is also super simple to ship off the clothes, because they do all the work for you, all you need to do is get a box! So good luck to you new Poshers and buy and sell all the clothes you want!
