The perfect Sunday can start with a brunch, and luckily for us, Gainesville has many restaurants that have to-die-for brunch. Here are five of the best places around Gainesville that specialize in this very important meal.

1. CYM Coffee Co.

If you are a big fan of coffee for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, CYM Coffee Co. is the place to go for brunch. They offer a wide variety of all coffee and tea drinks, but my personal favorite is the Pumpkin Chai Latte. Along with the drinks, they have many baked goods to snack on while you relax in the laid-back atmosphere of the coffee shop. They also have a lot of outside seating, which is perfect for a nice Gainesville morning.

2. Civilization

Civilization is also a laid-back brunch restaurant that offers many twists to classic breakfast items. Their avocado toast is amazing, along with their lemon ricotta beignets. Civilization also offers many vegan and vegetarian options, so everyone can find something for brunch.

3. Metro Diner

Metro Diner was on Guy Fieri's show "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Drives" for a reason. They are the classic diner right here in Gainesville and they have amazing brunch. I would recommend the "Yo Hala On The Square", which is fresh made challah bread with fruit covering it. Metro Diner also offers great lunch options, but I would definitely try their brunch.

4. Maple Street Biscuit Company

Maple Street Biscuit Company is a newer addition to the Gainesville brunch restaurants. They have all the classic brunch items, but all come with their signature biscuits. I personally have not been here yet, but I have heard many good things about their brunch.

5. Flying Biscuit Cafe

Flying Biscuit Cafe is very well-known here in Gainesville. They offer breakfast all day and I have had the french toast, which was some of the best french toast I have ever had. They also have delicious biscuits. While they are a chain restaurant, along with Maple Street, their food still tastes fresh and I love going here for brunch.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
