As a senior in college, I understand the struggle of being broke around the holiday season. I would love to buy my family and friends the gifts that they truly deserve but it's just not possible. Over the past three years, I have mastered the art of shopping on a budget so that I can still give my loved ones something to show that I appreciate them. Here are some hints to savvy holiday shopping.
1. Groupon is your best friend
Groupon has great deals, especially this time of the year! Whether you are looking for a date for you and your significant other or a relaxing spa day for your mom, Groupon is the way to go. You can shop for event tickets, travel tickets, restaurant deals and even gym memberships.
2. When in doubt go to TJ Maxx
If you're searching for something cute that isn't going to break the bank, head to TJ Maxx for the best prices. With coffee mugs under $5, candles under $10 and picture frames starting at $3, you can't go wrong here. They also have a holiday section for seasonal gifts.
3. Use Amazon Prime
Amazon has great deals to begin with, but free and fast shipping with Amazon Prime makes your purchases even more cost-effective. Not to mention college students get Amazon Prime for free!
4. Shop sales
It's not worth it to buy full price items if you have a list of people to buy for. Look online for sales and when in stores head to the clearance section to save cash.
This holiday season doesn't make the mistake of spending money you don't have. You can still show your loved ones you're thinking of them without breaking the bank.
