I'm sure some of you guys have heard of Rat Pak Mobile DJ's, but how many of you have heard they have recently purchased a new venue in Lafayette? I'm sure most of our chapters have enlisted the services of Rat Pak Mobile DJ's for one thing or another, whether it be a philanthropy or a rush event or for a large function. We can now look to DJ Powder and company for their high quality lighting and sound and then book our events at their own venue, located at 102 N. 3rd Street in downtown Lafayette.
This new venue includes banquet and floor space for over 200 patrons, and is hooked up with their state of the art sound and lighting systems. For the remainder of the school year, Rat Pak is offering a special price for the venue and the use of all its equipment at $850. This package gets you the space, the DJ, the lighting and sound for your event. Should you want to have food served or a cash bar, Rat Pak will allow you to bring in the catering service or licensed liquor vender of your choice. When I think of this venue from Rat Pak, one word comes to mind: Sponto.
Now I want to shed some light on the man behind the music, DJ Powder. Also known as Nicholas Ribordy, Nick was born an Indiana farmer. He got his start in music break dancing for a B-boy crew in the 90s before he began experimenting with the turn tables in college. Since then, DJ Powder has been recognized as one of the top DJs in the Greater Lafayette area by the Journal and Courier, and as small business of the month by the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce.
During his climb through the club music scene, DJ Powder has played shows at the Vogue in Indianapolis, booked with artists like the Ying Yang Twins, and has collaborated with Miller Lite for events at the Indy 500. His most recent shows have been booked in Wrigleyville, Chicago.
