What will I do without math?
You see, there are plenty of things.
I can laugh out loud and broadly smile at what tomorrow brings.
I’ll sing with the birds outside my window, I'll hold my head high because I know,
Math my old nemesis, your formulas, and problems have firmly been let go.
There will not be a callback, or perhaps a redo.
My long hours on even longer problems are finally through.
You taught me to count, and figure out a sale, and without those, I surely would not prevail.
The basic necessities were taught long ago, square roots and standard deviation, it's your time to go.
Addition and Subtraction, your time here is through,
I'm a busy girl and I'll get more accomplished without you.
Graphing and plots, you put me in tight spots,
One look at you tied my stomach into knots.
Tests and quizzes, low numbers always came out on top,
But with my final, your failing streak will finally come to a stop.
We’ve had a good run, ok let's not lie, you have caused me much frustration, and some tearful nights.
But now it's time, I bid you adieu, with the final exam, I’m breaking up with you.
It's not me, its so definitely you, so when the breakup is final, here's what we will do:
I'll burn my notebooks and all the papers,
I may even take the batteries out of the calculator.
You will never appear in my schedule again, and that is something I can count as a win.
Math my dear nemesis, as I say goodbye, there will be no tears shed as part of me comes back to life.
