I Took A Two-Month Break From Writing And Here's Why

I took a break from writing to remember why I started writing in the first place.

I have been part of my Odyssey community for almost two years now. I took a step back from writing for two months and that is okay!

When I stepped back I honestly wasn't sure if I would ever come back to writing. But honestly as soon as I had written what I thought was going to be my last ever article I missed it.

Writing for me has been a way to escape from the stress of my everyday life and let me just get lost in my own head and come up with something awesome to write. It was my self care act evert week and without it I soon found that I was stressed out all the time and wasn't sure how to destress.

But I also knew that I needed the time that I took to not be writing all the time because if i'm being totally honest I was having the hardest time getting articles out that were actually worth writing and worth the time it took to edit. But now I'm back and ready to rock and roll with some pretty sweet article ideas if I must say so.

Now that I have taken the time to myself and stepped back from writing and submitting articles all the time I have a clear head and I remember exactly why I started writing in the first place. When I first joined my team it wasn't about the number of pageviews I was going to get or the amount of times an article got shared it was about touching someone with what I was saying. It was about getting my voice out there for others to hear. Somewhere along the way though it was brought to light that it was also a way for me to de-stress at the end of the week.

Now that I have refocused on what I am really writing for expect some slightly different articles from me. I want the rest of my writing to be as impactful as it can be on those who are reading and it may not reach big audiences like some of my other stuff has but maybe it will change someones world or the way they see something.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
