From "Tin Toy" to "La Luna," I've grown up watching Pixar shorts over and over and over for quick entertainment. I'm a huge fan of Pixar and as time goes on, their stories have been getting more complex and have been attacking different themes and issues (their latest being "Inside Out"). In general, Pixar, which we associate so much with kids has began to take risks. In a pretty recent animated short called " Borrowed Time ," the people in the Pixar co-op program took a big leap in a different direction to provide an amazing short film. Originally, the short film was published for free, but soon after all the buzz, they put a price to watch it :(
If you either paid to see it or watched it before... WOAH, right? As a Pixar addict, I feel this short film also has importance because it started to push boundaries for where animated shorts like these can go. Because of films like these, we can now expect to see the short-film world open up, inspire and not have a light, giggly story the whole time. I'm totally excited to see where this takes us!
