All of your money goes toward books.
Nothing like your friends asking you to hang out but you ruthlessly declining their invitation. You've got books to buy, and that's more important.
You single handedly disappear for hours at a time.
Heaven forbid if something serious were to ever happen and your family/friends needed to get a hold of you. You've got yourself nose-deep in a book for hours at a time. No, seriously, hours. 600+ pages to read in one day? Challenge accepted.
Your friends want to talk about their lives. You want to talk about your favorite characters' lives.
Sorry, but you could care less about your friends' new jobs/relationships/etc. Not that you are trying to be a bad friend, but don't they understand that you just had your heart ripped out by some words on a page?
Every status/photo/update/video you post on social media is inspired by the books you read.
You won't find any late night out with the crew photos on your social media. Instead, you'll probably find a lot of book quotes, book photos, and book musings.
For some reason, you always find yourself gravitating toward the bookstore.
Need more books. Always. Doesn't matter if you have errands to run-- the bookstore is calling your name.
Admittedly, every book-to-movie adaptation that you come across you are interested in.
You need to do your research. Is the adaptation accurate? Does it matter? You usually end up liking both, because you're greedy.
You sometimes take on the persona of a novel's protagonist.
Or other characters. You just can't help it. Temporarily diving into a world so unlike your own has really affected you.
Dream casts. It cannot be helped.
When a book doesn't have a movie adaptation, it's only natural for you to want to give a face to the character you are reading about.
Your favorite characters are near and dear to your heart.
They feel like family. Who says they are not "real"? Nonsense
Caring for your books like they were your children or tossing them around like rag dolls. There's no in-between.
Your books are either in perfect condition or you have broken the spine with no shame. Both are a symbol of love.
You deeply admire the fact that you are a book lover.
It means you'll never be truly alone.
