Bingeworthy Review: Trailer Park Boys: out of the Park: Europe

It’s another week, and today I got another Bingeworthy review for all you lovelies out there. This week, I am reviewing a short spin-off series, of a show I had already reviewed a few months ago. Granted, I gave that show poor reviews but whatever. Anyway. let’s review: Trailer Park Boys: out of the Park Europe.

If you have ever seen the Trailer Park Boys, you’ll know that it is notorious for being foul-mouthed, white trash and to put it generally, f%$ked. The three main characters are: Ricky, the white trash, foul-mouthed, drug dealer. Bubbles the kind, intelligent kitten loving nerd. and Julian, the musclebound, alcoholic leader of the group. The original show centered around these three friends living in Sunnyvale trailer Park and followed them stealing, smoking dope, and cursing their mouths off like there’s no tomorrow.

In the spin-off that just released on Netflix on October 28, takes the three main trailer park boys and take them out of the trailer park, and have them tour around Europe. I mean, you could have probably guessed that much based on the title, but whatever I have to write at least five hundred words for each article. That’s why I wrote “Five Hundred” instead of “500” like a normal person. Where was I? So the show takes the three main characters and put them in a completely different scenario. Instead of trying to make ends meet with illegal activities, they are met with an entirely different problem.

The guys at Swearnet (if you ever seen the show, you’ll know that Swearnet is the entertainment company that films and “documents” the Trailer Park Boys.) promise Ricky, Bubbles and Julian a free paid vacation across Europe. However, that is not the case. Due to a certain Character not reading the contract, the boys aren’t getting paid without a little work. and not work you’d think like live shows or stealing or dealing drugs. The boss of swearnet gives the boys a list of ridiculous tasks to complete in order to make any money. Along the way they meet some pretty big names in the entertainment industry (in Europe anyways.) people like Crosby Stills and Nash, and Noel Fielding (old greg from the mighty boosh, and Richmond from the IT Crowd.) Can the boys make any money to buy Dope, Liquor or even food?

Trailer Park Boys Out of the Park Europe is a completely different monster as oppose to the original show. The spinoff is a bit like an idiot abroad, where you take a couple of white trash morons and out them in a completely different society. The jokes are pretty much limited to Ricky Bubbles and Julian reacting to their new surroundings with no money and having to do ridiculous things to get by. They are deviating from what they originally were, but it falls short when you realize these are just characters and not actual white trash morons embarrassing themselves throughout Europe.

Overall the spin-off is not terrible. It definitely has a scripted “An idiot Abroad” feel to it with a little bit of a “top gear; Complete these challenges” aspect to it. The show does have its moments and it is pretty short so it's not like you'd waste any time with it. If you're a fan of Trailer park boys I think it’s a good watch, but if you're unfamiliar with the style of comedy then don do it.

Score: 3.5/5

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
