College can be a very stressful time, especially if it's your first year. I know I found myself stressed many times and just needed a break from studying and doing homework. All the work can be so overwhelming, and sometimes it's good to just have some time to yourself. I have found a few ways to help me become less stressed including listening to music, reading, and coloring. However, my favorite way to destress is to watch Netflix shows. Here are some of my favorite binge-worthy Netflix shows.

1. "One Tree Hill"

Unfortunately, Netflix has removed One Tree Hill from its site, but it had to make the list. This is my favorite show of all time, and it follows Nathan Scott, Lucas Scott, Haley James, Peyton Sawyer and Brooke Davis through their lives. There is plenty of relationships, friendships, and drama. It has storylines that people can relate too and storylines that are a little more out there. If you can get your hands on this show definitely watch it because you hopefully will love it as much as I do.

2. "Gossip Girl"

Another very dramatic show, but another good one. This one follows a group of friends that live on the Upper East Side of New York. These privileged group of teens seem to be living the best lives, but everything is not what it may seem. Towards the beginning, I wasn't really into this show but I gave it a second chance, and I am so glad I did. So, if you aren't really into it right away give it a chance, it does get better.

3. "Parks and Recreation"

This show is very different than the first two listed. It follows Leslie Knope as she lives her life and works the job that she loves. It is incredibly funny, and will hopefully make you laugh as much as it made me laugh. If you're a fan of The Office, you should check this show out because it was made similarly.

4. "Stranger Things"

If you haven't jumped on the Stranger Things bandwagon yet, what are you doing? This show is so good and so easy to binge watch since there aren't too many episodes. Following the story of four friends through some very mysterious circumstances has never been so fun to watch. I originally thought I wouldn't like this show but I gave it a shot, and I'm so glad I did.

5. "Friends"

It's a classic that I believe everyone should at least watch some of. It's so easy to sit down on your couch and accidentally watch half or even a full season without really realizing you've been watching it for that long. It never fails to make me laugh, and once you've seen it all, you'll probably watch it all again.

6. "Shameless"

If you don't enjoy immature humor, this show is probably not for you. Although it is immature at times, there is a really good storyline through all of the seasons that will keep you watching. When all of my friends were watching Shameless I was weary of starting it, but it is one of my favorite shows, and I binged it very fast.

7. "The Vampire Diaries"

Another show that starts with the cast as teens in high school and the drama they face. It sort of gives off a Twilight vibe at the beginning, but believe me it gets one hundred times better. It's definitely good because even my dad watched it, and he started watching it before I did.

8. "The Originals"

A spinoff of The Vampire Diaries that follows the first vampires and their family drama. Surprisingly, I enjoyed this show more than The Vampire Diaries because Klaus is one of my favorite fictional characters ever.

9. "Supernatural"

Disclaimer: this show is LONG. It is in its thirteenth season, and some episodes are slow and will probably want to make you stop watching the show. This happened to me, but slowly and surely I am still trucking through.

10. "Riverdale"

Another classic that everyone is jumping on the bandwagon of. It is based on comics probably very few people have ever even heard of, but the show is great. The storylines are really interesting and keep you watching. The first season is all about who killed Jason Blossom and the second season is focused on who a hooded man is that is terrorizing the town.

11. "The Ranch"

This is another show that has more immature humor with it, but it always has me laughing. I originally did not think I would enjoy this show, but I am so glad that I decided to watch it.

12. "Gilmore Girls"

This is all about the life of Rory and Lorelei Gilmore and all the drama in their lives. This is another more teenage show, but it was also surprisingly really good. They also made a revival recently, which ends on a pretty great cliffhanger.

13. "Grey's Anatomy"

Oh, look another bandwagon show. Literally all my friends were watching this show and telling me to watch it, but at first, I refused. I didn't want to be basic, and I didn't want to commit to so many seasons, but there is not another show out there that has pulled at my heartstrings like this one has.

14. "The Carrie Diaries"

A Sex and the City spin following Carrie Bradshaw. It shows how fashion impacted her life and how she got to where she ended up. It got canceled after two seasons, which was very upsetting because I thoroughly enjoyed this show.

15. "American Horror Story"

First things first, this show is weird, EXTREMELY weird. Also, in my opinion, the newer seasons are not as good as the first three. I watched the entire first season in a day, the second season the next day, and the third season the third day. It was that good. Then I got to the fourth season and was not entirely enjoying the show anymore. I still watched the fourth season, but I found myself not watching the full seasons since then. I have given the other seasons a shot but just haven't been as impressed as I was with the first three seasons.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
