Attention fellow Netflix and Hulu enthusiasts! With February finally ending we have now entered the month of March, the halfway mark between the end of the semester and the beginning of summer. Now if you are going anywhere on spring break, have fun and be safe. But if you are going back to your hometown and what to limit as much interaction as possible here are a few shows and movies to make you laugh/cry on your break from crying about school work.
1. The Office
Let’s be real, this show is an American classic that was inspired by the intellectual wit of the UK version of The Office. We will always be grateful to the Brit's for The Beetles, Adele, and now The Office as well.
2. Parks and Recreation
Who doesn’t love Amy Poehler and Chris Pratt? This is a great show to have a good laugh and binge on your favorite snack.
3. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
This combines comedy and humor with modern day pop culture references to make you laugh and truly relate to the characters. It also stares Ellie Kemper, who plays Erin in The Office, which just adds to the greatness of this show!
4. Stranger Things
Okay, I know, who hasn't seen Stranger Things? Well, I tried to hold off on the bandwagon of this show as long as I could but it’s just too good not to watch even if you're not the biggest sci-fi fan.
5. Gossip Girl
It’s the drama you didn’t know you needed in your life. You wish you lived on the Upper East Side and could be a Constanance Girl. You know you love (the show) xoxo.
6. Dead Poets Society
This is probably my go-to inspirational/cry movie. Dead Poet's Society is truly inspired by what it’s like to be freed by literature and understand what it means to have someone who believes in you so deeply. Staring the late Robin Williams, this movie is a classic everyone should see.
7. Great News
This witty NBC comedy can be found on Hulu. This comedy combines wit and humor all while Katy takes on NYC with her mom as her intern, and it is sure to make you laugh. Tina Fey also makes a few cameos, bonus!!
8. The Mindy Project
Mindy Kaling created, stars in, and produces this witty comedy about an OBGYN trying to find love in NYC. If you are not familiar with Mindy Kaling, she plays Kelly in The Office, and this comedy is sure to make you laugh and find your inner #GirlBoss!
9. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
BTW: this is one of my favs! This funny romcom stars Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey and is full of wit and sarcasm and sure to make you laugh and want to "frost yourself."
10. Gilmore Girls
Okay, disclaimer: I have watched this series three times. This heartfelt show highlights the strong mother-daughter relationship we will all connect to. Through wit and pop culture references we see the Gilmore girls navigate life as new chapters begin for both Loreli and Rory.
I hope you find time to watch these awesome shows whether it be on spring break or whenever you have time!
