I definitely hopped on the :Big Little Lies" bandwagon months later than everybody else, considering the finale was in late April and I began watching it in July. Now, almost a year later, I sit in my bed rewatching the series as I should be cleaning my room, ACHING because season 2 will not come out until 2019. As I sit in my own embitterment of the fact that Shailene Woodley lost the Emmy to Laura Dern, my salty self also remembers that there are actually fans out there that think this wonderful masterpiece SHOULDN'T GET A SECOND SEASON. Let me break it down for you in my top 5 reasons why this iconic work of art deserves a season 2. *****SPOILERS*****

1. Shailene Woodley…okay??

1000% the most underrated part of this entire series— Shailene's acting and storyline was BEAUTIFULLY DONE, and her performance just felt so raw and real. I personally cannot wait to see what she brings to the small screen in the second season, with Jane now knowing that Perry is her rapist and Ziggy's father (ALSO, WHY DIDN'T SHE WIN THE EMMY? WHY DID IT GO TO LAURA DERN? I'm still mad).

2. How does Celeste recover from all the bullshit she went through? TELL ME.

Nicole Kidman was undoubtedly the best part of this entire series and if anyone tells you otherwise, you are legally allowed to punch them in the head. Her portrayal of Celeste was heartbreakingly realistic, making the character seem as if she was someone you knew. There is no possible way that this world can keep on turning without more closure on how Celeste is dealing with the death of her abusive husband, and the fact that his mother comes to town in season 2 (PLAYED BY MERYL STREEP) only makes the entire situation more complicated. Also, knowing that Max was the one bullying Amabella, Celeste is now left to wonder whether his abusive tendencies could have come from her late husband. Also, how will the boys react to the death of their father? CELESTE DESERVES A SEASON 2, DAMMIT.

3. Madeline's affair

One thing that was only briefly touched on in season 1 was Madeline's affair. This storyline was written into the plot— it was one of the few additions to not match the source novel. That being said, WE HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT WILL PLAY OUT. Ed still doesn't know about the affair (though something about that sad performance of "The Wonder Of You" by Elvis makes me think he knows something…) and we deserve to know if and how he finds out.

4. That last scene on the beach...

Okay, HOW can you tell me that this show doesn't need a season 2 after that cryptic AF final scene on the beach? The 5 star ladies are playing on the beach with their kids, a common secret of murder shared among them (*cough cough* BONNIE— just kidding, love you, you sweet, little hippie), but they don't know that the DETECTIVE IS WATCHING THEM THROUGH BINOCULARS. SHE IS STILL ON TO THEM. HUH???? You can't end a series on a cliffhanger like that— are you crazy??? I'm gonna need to know what that detective knows, like, NOW.

5. ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN

Since "Big Little Lies" was originally a novel by Liane Moriarty, the first season's storyline was pretty set in stone. The writers of the show kept the plot very similar to the book with the exception of minor changes, edits, and additions. But this second season is a giant question mark. The plot is completely up in the air, and we have no way of knowing what could happen. THE SUSPENSE IS DELICIOUS. Gimme that season 2 now, please.

"Big Little Lies" made a large impression on audiences everywhere, so thankfully there WILL be a season 2, regardless of whether it's wanted or not (it is very wanted!). Season 2 of the hit show premieres on HBO in 2019. Y'all better be watching with me!(Seriously though, if you go to Ohio University and want to have a viewing party when it premieres, I am not opposed— please contact me.)

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

The transition into adulthood is never easy

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
