5 Bible Verses For Girls In College

Going into college is a hard time in life, especially when you are trying to keep close with God. Sometimes studying becomes our top priority when we still need to remember to read our bible and pray. These five verses are what continue to encourage me to get through rough days, and even the days were I feel nothing will ever be right.

1. Proverbs 31:25

"She is clothed in strength and dignity, and laughs without fear of the future."

This verse is so important to all young girls. We must realize that strength and dignity is how we should be seen. Being strong is difficult, especially when you are not feeling anywhere close to being strong. Your dignity is key to how people view you as a person. If you are not respectful of those around you, then people will take note of that. God wants us to be able to stand up for ourselves and show kindness to those around us. The second part of this verse is very close to me. I have it tattooed on my back, and always think of it when dealing with hard times. I think of this verse as a way to see light at the end of a dark tunnel. I know that at the end of the day, I will laugh without fear of the future.

2. Philippians 4:13

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

This if for when you think you can no longer do anything right. After failing an exam, He has strengthened you, and continues to everyday. After a tough day, know that God has such great things in store for you. Also apply this to your life when you are doing great things, and remember that He is the one that lifts you up. He is your backbone and gives you all the strength that you will ever need. If you feel that you are becoming weak, the strength will come soon.

3. Romans 8:18

"The pain that you've been feeling can't compare to the joy that's coming."

Whether your pain is your class load or the pain of something more personal, know that joy is coming very soon. God has so much in store for you that you will not even remember this little problem in a couple years. You are His beloved and putting all of your trust in Him alone can lead you to such great joy.

4. 1 Corinthians 16:14

"Do everything in love."

This one is pretty self explanatory, but as females, we tend to be harsh to one another. It is important to love everyone around you, and to do everything in love. It is hard to change your perspective to this, but know that it is for the better. Love is what the world so desperately needs right now.

5. Proverbs 31:10

"She is worth far more than rubies."

Okay girls, it's time to put yourself first. You are more precious than rubies and you are beautiful. You can not let others put you down when you know that your father, God, loves and cherishes you. He made you the way you are for so many reasons, and you are here for a purpose. Know your worth, and respect that in all ways. Never settle for anything less.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
