Life is always full of struggles and chaos. In times of struggle, I always tend to stress and become overwhelmed with the constant battles hitting me in all directions. I have to be reminded to set my eyes back on the one who controls all things. These verses help me achieve that

1. Matthew 19:26

"Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

God is the only one who can help you overcome those "impossible" moments in life.

2. Psalms 23

"Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the all the days of my life."

This is one of the more commonly known passages of the Bible. Psalms 23 portrays how God is with his people at all time and guiding them in his direction. I love verse 6 because it shows how God's amazing love reaches you no matter how far you go or how bad life gets.

3. Philippians 4:7

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

This has always been a lifetime struggle for me. I love to worry about everything, but it's definitely not a good thing. Stressing out about every bad thing in your life will only make you crazy. Instead, pray to God about everything, even the little things because he cares about it all.

4. James 1:2-3

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance."

No one wants to go through pain and suffering, however when we do we know that the LORD will make us stronger in it. When trails come our way we can have hope that Jesus will never abandon us at any moment.

5. 2 Corinthians 4:18

"8 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."

We have a great hope knowing that all the mess that we experience on this earth is temporary. When we fix our eyes on God the troubles of this world become very small next to the great things that are in store for us in eternity.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
