This past weekend I had the honor of attending Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA and my life has forever been changed. This was the first time that I had seen Beyoncé in concert and I had no idea what to expect, but let me just say that she slayed my life! Everything about this production was amazing; her performance, the visuals, choreography, the theatrics, her live band and her costumes. Every detail of the production was simply amazing.
DJ Khaled was the opening act and he brought out guests which included Trey Songz, Ne-yo, Snoop Dogg, Yo Gotti, Big Sean, Remy Ma, Ty Dolla $ign, and Fat Joe. DJ Khaled did a good job at hyping up the crowd for Beyoncé and the anticipation for her performance could be felt. After his set was finished, the wait for Beyoncé to come out on stage began.
All Beyoncé had to say was “Okay ladies now let’s get in formation" and the crowd went insane. “Formation” is the song Beyoncé opened her show with and it was a magical performance. From her sense of empowerment when singing the song, to her back up dancers, everything was amazing.
Throughout the show Beyoncé performed songs from her newest album, “Lemonade” but she also performed some of her older songs. Some of her older songs that she performed included “Crazy In Love”, “”Diva” and she even performed “Survivor” which is a Destiny’s Child song. Every time she performed one of her older songs she would mention the journey she’s been on and where she was in her life when she came out with that song. It was truly inspiring to see how much hard work can really pay off.
Watching Beyoncé perform felt unreal. It is so amazing to see a woman perform for hours, singing, dancing, running around the whole stage and doing all of it while wearing heels. Beyonce’s sense of female empowerment, confidence, independence and work ethic is something that is truly inspiring. I left the Formation World Tour feeling like I could achieve anything I put my mind to.
Beyoncé is truly the definition of a superstar.
