Two Is Better Than One

Good things come in twos.

Two Is Better Than One

I have had the pleasure of growing up with two girls that happen to not only be my best friends, but twins! I hear a lot of negativity when it comes to having friends that are twins, but what people don't tell you is how kick ass it is to be around twins. Even though Margo has been begging me to write an article about her, I slept on it and realized I have so much to talk about. Margo and Noelle have brought many smiles and happy memories into my life that we've come to the obnoxious friendship part of our lives since we are so comfortable with each other. Our friendship has come such a long way that they are no longer my friends, but my younger sisters. There are pros and cons to being best friends with twins, but I'm feeling nice today so I'll reflect on the pros.

Here's why two is better than one:

1. You will never be lonely.

Being friends with twins sets you up with two people to possibly hangout with, what more can I ask for? If one of them doesn't want McDonalds (which never happens), I can always count on the other to come in clutch.

2. You learn how to be patient.

I can't even imagine parenting twins because they are a pain to just be friends with. Having friends with two very different personalities is tough to handle, but you learn how to deal with it. But, most importantly they have taught me that good things happen to those who wait, and that life will fall into place.

3. You get two opinions on outfits and selfies.

I don't know how many times I've sent Margo and Noelle pictures making sure my outfit matched (which it never did), or to rate my selfie. Being friends with twins helps you get different opinions because of their very different personalities.

4. Having two people to laugh at your jokes.

Let’s face it--I'm hilarious.

5. You have two people to brighten your day.

There’s never a dull moment when we're together, and that’s what makes our friendship grow. We not only crack jokes, but we learn from each other’s mistakes. And they're always around to pick me up when I fall.

6. Double the trouble.

I wouldn't want to do reckless things with anyone else. Don't tell mom. Seriously.

7. You get to love two people rather than one.

We've been friends for years now, and even though I'm surprised you girls aren't sick of me yet, I can't imagine life without you. I mean who else would I stuff my face with McDonalds with?

Margo and Noelle,

Thank you for showing me that life is better in twos, but most importantly thank you for being my best friends and younger sisters.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
