Best friends. What would we do without them? Of course live our lives, but life would be a lot harder if we didn’t have those best friends that we could run to when things got rough, or even when we needed someone to cry to, or even be there for us in the happiest moments of life. For me, I have about 15 best friends. I know it is a lot. Half of my best friends are from high school and half of my best friends are from college.
A best friend isn’t someone who has been around the longest, but it is someone who you can count on and know that they will always be there for you no matter what. However, that’s not including my siblings because they are all my best friends, and have been there for me through everything. Every single last one of my best friends has been there for me through the good times and the bad times. The best thing about having so many best friends are the different memories that I share with each and every one of them.
The memories go from being friends since we were in grade school, to staying up all night until 6 a.m. then sleeping in all day because we had no priorities, to toilet-papering people’s houses, to cheerleading, to laughing so hard and not being able to tell a story, to prank calling people, to playing softball, to playing basketball, to texting each other so we can meet up at the café to go eat together, to going through the Jeschke system together, to running track, to dressing up as boys to go to Walmart and be silly, to random Facetime calls, to spending several nights at each other’s houses, to playing flag football, to doing talent shows together, to living together, to walking to each other’s dorms to hanging out all night, to talking about what we want our futures to be like, to watching movies in the dorm lobbies, to making YouTube videos, to using the restroom in our pants because we couldn’t make it in time, to talking about what we are going to name our kids, to sending a random text message about some memory that happened a long time ago, to giving each other advice even if we have already given advice over the same topic 50 times, to even supporting one another in each other’s next chapter of life.
I’m sure there are 1,000 more memories I could name, but those are some of my favorites. Sometimes it makes me sad because we are all growing up, and going our separate ways, but I know in my heart we will always be there for one another and will continue to have exciting memories when we have the time to make them. I am forever thankful that God has given me some amazing fun friends to do this life with.
So to all of my best friends, thank you guys for the unconditional love, and the fun memories.
