When I was younger, there were certain books, television shows, and movies that were staples in my family’s entertainment queue. One of the TV shows my two siblings and I watched frequently was "Winnie the Pooh." We knew the cast of characters by heart and all had our favorites — mine was Eeyore. We had memorabilia and VHS tapes, and always waited in anticipation for the holiday specials — that Halloween one was creepy, though, not gonna lie. To this day, I have very fond memories of Winnie the Pooh, and I call my dog, whose name is Twitch, Twitchopher Robin in honors of the only human character to make an appearance in the series. Yes, I am a total and complete sentimental nerd, but looking back on Winnie the Pooh now, I can see the wisdom in the lessons that he taught to children every day in the Hundred-Acre Wood. Below are some of my favorite quotes — advice that I think we all can live by.

“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

“Some people care too much. I think it’s called love.”

“A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside.”

“I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart so long. If we’re in each other’s dreams we can be together all the time.”

“A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.”

“Love is taking a few steps backward maybe even more… to give way to the happiness of the person you love.”

“If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever.”

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
