My mom's family lives all over Maine, so growing up I spent most summers visiting there. If you haven't been, Maine is such a beautiful place with a lot of great places to visit and delicious food to eat. Here's a list of some of the wonderful sights, attractions, and food Maine has to offer!

1. Portland Head Lighthouse

The Portland Head Lighthouse is one of many lighthouses scattered all around Maine. Visiting gives you a view you can't beat and an opportunity for some beautiful pictures!

2. Old Orchard Beach

Maine has so many miles of coastline, so visiting any beach is a must. Old Orchard Beach is a beautiful location that many tourists come to for a relaxing beach day.

3. Amato's Sandwiches

If you have never had an Italian sandwich, you are missing out. If you've never had an Italian sandwich from Amato's, you haven't lived. Hands down, Amato's has the BEST Italians out there. This is definitely one of the things I most look forward to when I visit.

4. Downtown Freeport

Downtown Freeport is so much fun. I mean, it has LL Bean, what else do you need? There are great food places, lots of shopping places, and the giant Bean Boot to take a picture with. Plus, they even have Food Truck Fridays!

5. Rococo Ice Cream

If you're looking for an ice cream place with different flavors than your usual chocolate and vanilla, Rococo is a great place to start! They have a lot of really interesting flavors, like Goat Cheese Blackberry, Strawberry Habanero, and Sweet Avocado Cayenne. Definitely something to try!

6. The Causeway in Naples

The Causeway on Sebago Lake is a quaint little boardwalk, perfect for walking and getting some fresh air. The Songo River Queen takes passengers around the lake, or kayaks and other water toys are available to rent for the day. It's a beautiful spot to visit!

7. Lobster

Maine is best known for their lobster, so it had to make the list. If you can get it fresh, don't miss the opportunity! Maine lobster is a 'must have' for seafood lovers.

8. Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor is farther up along the Maine coastline, but it is a beautiful place. The mountains and the water make a lovely scene to visit. I can almost feel the relaxation...

9. Moose

If you're lucky, you just might get to see a moose! They don't come out often, but they are really cool to see!

10. Fryeburg Fair

The Fryeburg Fair is the largest and most popular agricultural fair in Maine. Not only does it have animal shows, horse races, and rides, but it has DELICIOUS fair food. This is definitely something fun to check out if you're looking for a fair!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
