1. “Anything you put your mind to and add your imagination into, can make your life a lot better and a lot more fun”

This applies to everything else in college except that really hard class you’re in right now.

2. “In life, you learn lessons. And sometimes you learn them the hard way. Sometimes you learn them too late.”

Like showing up to class and realizing that it’s cancelled but you already made the trek across campus

3. “Just because something is over doesn’t mean it wasn’t incredibly beautiful. Because another lesson I’ve learned is not all stories have a happy ending and you have to learn to deal with that.”

This one’s really personal and deep. My story is that I had a really great night of sleep this past Sunday night and it was incredibly beautiful, but I also had to face Monday and that was not my happy ending because I had to deal with yet another Monday.

4. “Life is a ruthless game unless you play it good and play it right.”

I’ve learned that if I make the right friends in my classes that are nice enough to sign me in when I don’t show up is how you play the game good and right

5. “Life is like walking, you take one step at a time.”

Except when you’re really bad at walking and trip on your way to class one morning

6. “Life isn’t how to survive the storm, it’s about how to dance in the rain.”

But not at 8am when you’re trying to walk to class and you show up looking like you just got out of the shower

7. “The trials and tribulations in your life make you stronger.”

I relate to this on a deep level because completing my nursing major is a trial and tribulation in itself

8. “The world doesn’t owe you anything. You have to work for everything you get, and you have to appreciate every bit of success the world gives you.”

I’d like to personally thank not only Jesus but also quizlet for my success in college this far

9. “Being fearless isn’t being 100% not fearful, it’s being terrified, but you jump anyway.”

I’m not sure if this applies when I wanted to jump off that bridge Monday morning instead of going to class.

10. “Giving up doesn’t always mean you are weak, sometimes you’re just strong enough to let go.”

I will give up that fact that I do not have a 4.0 GPA

11. “If somebody hurts you, it’s okay to cry a river but remember to build a bridge and get over it.”

I actively take steps toward recovering from the hurt that I’ve experienced as a result of the grades I got last semester in all my classes

12. “I’ve questioned everything about myself, every step of the way. You have to have the same amount of fear and self-doubt as you do hope and blind optimism.”

I ask myself multiple times a day as to why I’m a nursing major but then I remember it’s FTK

13. “I wish teenagers can filter through songs instead of turning to drugs and alcohol.”

I also turn to the best food they have in commons that day, but I’ve also learned that I’ll probably be fat if I continue to keep up this unhealthy lifestyle.

14. “Live your life like you’re 80 looking back on your teenager years. You know if your dad calls you at eight in the morning and asks if you want to go out for breakfast. As a teenager you’re like no, I want to sleep. But as an eighty-year-old looking back you have that breakfast with your dad. It just little things like that, that helped me when I was a teenager in terms of making choices you won’t regret.”

Will compromise my sleep schedule for free food and always remember the times that I did.

15. “I feel in my music I can be a rebel. I can say things I wouldn’t say in real life.”

Alcohol. Enough said

16. “Nobody in country music “made it” the same way. It’s all different. There’s not blueprint for success, and sometimes you just have to work at it.”

Maybe changing my major for the 10th time will help me find some success in life.

17. "If you’re horrible to me, I’m going to write a song about it and you won’t like it. That’s how I operate.”

Stay tuned for the latest article about you.

18. “I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to love. No one does! There’s no pattern to it, except that it happens to all of us, of course. I can’t plan for it; I can’t predict how it will end up.”

I can relate but more about my life and not love

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
