The Best 20 South Park Episodes In 20 Years
YouTube

With 21 seasons and 287 episodes, it is nearly impossible to scope out the best 20 episodes of the adult, comedic classic, "South Park".

While you're certainly free to disagree, here are my top 20.

**CONTAINS SPOLIERS** If you haven't watched the show, definitely make note of the episode titles on the list but do not read the descriptions or "best part of the episode" as those contain spoilers.

20. "The Succubus"(Season 3, Episode 3)

Episode description: Chef falls in love with a woman named Veronica and decides to marry her. The boys take a disliking to her and discover that she is a succubus (a demoness from Hell that sucks the life out of men).

Best part of the episode: Chef's parents describing their frequent run-ins with the Loch Ness Monster, who just really wants $3.50.

19. "The Red Badge of Gayness" (Season 3, Episode 14)

Episode description: The town of South Park puts on their annual Civil War reenactment. Things get out of hand when the men portraying Confederate soldiers get drunk on Smore's Schnapps and allow Cartman to manipulate them into attempting to WIN the reenactment.

Best part of the episode: The drunk army successfully taking over cities with prop weapons.

18. "City Sushi" (Season 15, Episode 6)

Episode description: A Japanese restaurant opens in town, called "City Sushi", sending the owner of the current Chinese restaurant (City Wok), Mr. Lu Kim, into a frenzy and starting a cultural turf war between the two men. Meanwhile, Butters is sent to a therapist (Dr. Janus) who believes he suffers from Multiple Personality Disorder due to the fact that Butters frequently plays games like "Inspector Butters" and "Fireman", despite the fact that the therapist himself is actually the one with Multiple Personality Disorder.

Best part of the episode: It is revealed that Butters' therapist, Dr. Janus, who has a severe case of Multiple Personality Disorder, is actually Mr. Lu Kim- the owner of City Wok. Kim is Janus' strongest personality. Despite the fact that the town now knows this and knows that Janus' other personalities are dangerous (and that Kim may be a dangerous personality as well), they refuse to throw him in jail as City Wok is the town's only Chinese food place and they don't want it to close. This revelation is never mentioned again.

17. "The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs" (Season 14, Episode 2)

Episode description: The boys are really excited to read "The Catcher in the Rye" for class, seeing as it had been banned from schools for its content. Upon reading it, they are disappointed that it's not offensive in the least bit so they decide to write their own book, entitled The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs, and fill it will offensive and vulgar content. When the parents discover the book, they dub it a work of genius and the book is published and becomes a hit.

Best part of the episode: The crap the script takes on "esteemed works of literature" and how readers oftentimes create heavy meaning in books where this is none.

16. "All About the Mormons" (Season 7, Episode 12)

Episode description: A Mormon family moves to South Park and their son, Gary, becomes friends with Stan. Throughout the episode, Gary's family tells the story of how Mormonism came to be.

Best part of the episode: The music playing throughout the re-telling of the origin of Mormonism which is the word "dumb" sang repeatedly, poking fun at how insane the stories of how different religions came to be and leading the audience to question why people believe the tales so blindly.

15. "Lice Capades" (Season 11, Episode 3)

Episode description: A head lice outbreak occurs at school. The episode switches from the kids of South Park Elementary trying to determine who among them has the head lice and the plight of the head lice living on one student's (who is revealed to be Clyde) head.

Best part of the episode: The story of the head lice and the tragedy they face when Clyde is prescribed shampoo that ruthlessly murders most of the population.

14. "It Hits the Fan" (Season 5, Episode 1)

Episode description: The word "shit" is finally going to be said, uncensored, on TV for the first time in a show called "Cop Drama". The whole town gathers around to watch it. Afterwards, the word "shit" becomes commonplace, but the frequent use of it brings about a plague, as the word is a "Word of Curse" (a literal "curse" word) and saying it has serious consequences.

Best part of the episode: Despite how hilariously accurate, the concept of the episode is (i.e. people are dumb for freaking out over saying a word), the best part of the episode is the counter in the bottom corner of the scene, ticking off how many times the word "shit" is said throughout the episode. The grand total is 162 times.

13. "Something Wall-mart This Way Comes" (Season 8, Episode 9)

Episode description: In this episode, a Walmart is finally built in South Park, which at first makes all the residents of the community happy, until the store starts destroying the town by destroying small businesses and causing many people to become addicted to the low prices and deals. The townspeople decide to burn the Walmart down, but every time they destroy it, it is rebuilt and functioning again, leaving the boys to find a way to get rid of it for good.

Best part of the episode: As in most South Park episodes which point out/ make fun of major problems in our society, this episode is taking a swing at the nature of big corporations. However, at the end of the episode, once the Walmart is successfully destroyed, the townspeople all return to shopping at the local convenient store and a montage occurs showing that small business slowly growing, expanding, and eventually turning into a corporation which the townspeople try to burn. So basically, the message of the episode is that corporations are inherently evil, yes, but they are also unavoidable.

12. "Krazy Kripples" (Season 7, Episode 2)

Episode description: The two crippled kids in South Park, Jimmy and Timmy, join The Crips (the notorious gang), after mistaking their organization for a club for people who are crippled.

Best part of the episode: When Jimmy and Timmy attempt to settle the long-standing rivalry between The Crips and The Bloods by forcing them to participate in an overnight lock-in at the local rec center, which hilariously works.

11. "Miss Teacher Bangs a Boy" (Season 10, Episode 10)

Episode description: Kyle's little brother, Ike (a kindergartner), develops a crush on his teacher, Miss Stevenson, who admits to returning his feelings and the pair start up an affair. Upon finding out about Ike and Miss Stevenson, Kyle tries to report her to the police, but everyone is impressed that Ike is banging his hot teacher.

Best part of the episode: The jab at how a male teacher sleeping with an underage student is seen as pedophilia, but a female teacher sleeping with an underage male student, is largely viewed as a victimless crime, as long as the teacher in question is attractive. Of course, the gross age between Ike and Miss Stevenson is for added effect.

10. "Gnomes" (Season 2, Episode 17)

Episode description: Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny are paired up with their classmate, Tweek, for create a presentation on a current event for the town committee. Tweek suggests that they do their presentation on the "Underpants Gnomes" that continuously sneak into Tweek's room and steal his underpants. The boys then stay over at Tweek's house in an attempt to catch the gnomes in the act.

Best part of the episode: It's a toss up between the Underpants Gnomes' song which they sing as they work and their business model: "Phase 1- Collect underpants, Phase 2- ?, Phase 3- Profit".

9. "Here Comes the Neighborhood" (Season 5, Episode 12)

Episode description: Token (the "token" black child of South Park, whose family is also the only wealthy one in town) is shunned by the other kids in town after bringing the DVD of "The Lion King" to Stan's house, instead of the VHS (since Token's family is the only one able to afford a DVD player). Left without friends who he can relate to, Token arranges for other wealthy families (who happen to also be black) to move to town, including Will Smith and Snoop Dogg. The townspeople all complain about the "richers" in town and devise a plan to run them out of town.

Best part of the episode: When the townspeople decide to dress up as ghosts to scare the rich people into moving because, "Rich people are afraid of ghosts". And of course, the whole thing is just a statement about racism.

8. "Mystery of the Urinal Deuce" (Season 10, Episode 9)

Episode description: Someone at South Park takes a shit in a urinal in the boys' bathroom, launching a full on investigation as to who the culprit is. Cartman dubs it a conspiracy and then begins to dive into the "conspiracy of 9/11", in which he determines that Kyle was behind 9/11, forcing Kyle to prove his innocence to others in town.

Best part of the episode: The Hardly Boys, a pair of detectives, are hired to solve the mystery of who pooped in the urinal and frequently use phrases such as, "I'm getting a raging clue".

7. "Ginger Kids" (Season 9, Episode 11)

Episode description: Cartman delivers a hate speech against redheaded, "ginger", kids in which he asserts their appearance is caused by a disease called, "Gingervitis", that they can't go outside (and those who can are called "Daywalkers", and that they have no souls. As Kyle, a redhead himself, tries to create his own presentation to disprove Cartman's, he finds out that many other people in town, including the parents of redhead kids, also hate "gingers". Kyle decides teach Cartman a lesson and with the help of Stan and Kenny, bleaches Cartman's skin, dyes his hair red, and gives him Henna tattoo freckles. Thinking he'd become a "ginger" himself, Cartman switches his stance, attempting to persuade his "fellow gingers" to kill all non-gingers. As they are about to start killing the non-gingers, Kyle whispers the truth to Cartman, who pretends to have an epiphany and talks his followers out of going through with the planned genocide.

Best part of the episode: Cartman's speech.

6. "I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining" (Season 16, Episode 6)

Episode description: In the format of reality shows, such as, "I Shouldn't Be Alive" (Animal Planet), the episode is an over-dramatized account of the "dangers" of ziplining (i.e. it's boring and takes too long to go through the course).

Best part of the episode: At the end where the boys are shown in a real life universe, rather than the typical cartoon one.

5. "The Hobbit" (Season 17, Episode 10)

Episode description: The ugliest girl at South Park becomes popular when she photoshops a picture of herself to make her appear hotter, prompting other girls at the school to do the same. Angry about the pressure being put on her to join in the photoshop craze, Wendy Testaburger, starts going on rants about how ridiculous using photoshop is and tells Butters that his celebrity crush, Kim Kardashian, has the body of a hobbit in real life and all her pictures are touched up and therefore, fake. This incurs the wrath of Kanye West, who then spends the episode trying to prove that Kim is not a hobbit.

Best part of the episode: Kanye West slowly coming to the realization that Kim Kardashian might be a hobbit, seeing as she smokes a pipe and goes on quests with her friends, prompting him to frequently call her and ask again to be sure she's not a hobbit.

4. "Butters' Bottom Bitch" (Season 13, Episode 9)

Episode description: Butters finds out that his classmate, Sally, is selling kisses to boys for $5 at recess. After purchasing his first kiss from her, Butters begins to take an interest in Sally's business model, selling her on the idea of giving him a cut for referring customers to her, as well as bringing other girls on board in order to be able to handle more customers and turn a larger profit. After Kyle calls Butters out for being a pimp, Butters goes to a pimp convention where he seeks advice from actual pimps, picks up the pimp jargon, and begins to develop a reputation.

Best part of the episode: Sergeant Yates, a male Park County police officer, who goes undercover as a female prostitute in order to catch Johns. However, Yates keeps actually having sex with the men before arresting them.

3. "Black Friday/ A Song of Ass and Fire/ Titties and Dragons" (Season 17, Episodes 7-9)

Episode description: Right before Black Friday, the boys disagree on whether they should get Xbox Ones or PlayStation 4s, causing a major divide. The three episodes in this continuation are all spoofs on Game of Thrones.

Best part of the episode(s): The rendition of the Game of Thrones theme song.

2. "Casa Bonita" (Season 7, Episode 11)

Episode description: For Kyle's birthday, his mom agrees to take him and three of his friends to Casa Bonita, dubbed "the Disneyland of Mexican restaurants" due to its various attractions such as cliff divers, live Mariachi bands, etc. Cartman is furious when he finds out that Kyle plans to take Stan, Kenny, and Butters, leaving him out. Kyle explains that this decision is due to Cartman constantly bullying him, leading Cartman to be extra nice to Kyle in an attempt to win a spot on the birthday trip. While Kyle buys Cartman's act, he says that Cartman can only go if Butters can't since the invitation had already been made. In order to get Butters out of the picture, Cartman convinces him that the world is about to end and urges him to stay hidden underground in a bunker, where Butters remains while the town frantically looks for him.

Best part of the episode: When Butters is eventually found and tells the police what Cartman did, the police call Kyle's mom who is right outside Casa Bonita with the boys (Cartman included). Cartman runs through Casa Bonita, attempting to enjoy everything the restaurant has to offer in his last few moments before the police show up.

*drum roll*

1. "Scott Tenorman Must Die" (Season 5, Episode 4)

Episode description: Cartman is tricked into thinking you have to buy pubes to be seen as adult by an older kid in town named Scott Tenorman. After purchasing pubes from Tenorman, only to be mocked by his peers, Cartman attempts an exchange which is repeatedly denied. Cartman and Tenorman go back and forth with Cartman attempting to get revenge and embarrass Tenorman, while Tenorman always winds up getting one over on Cartman and making him look stupid. Angry, Cartman explains his intricate revenge plot to Stan and Kyle, in which if everything goes according to plan, Tenorman is to have his penis bitten off by a horse at the town's annual chili cook off, during which time Tenorman's favorite band, Radiohead (lured to town by Cartman, under the guise of meeting Tenorman before he dies from cancer), would show up and laugh at Tenorman for being a crybaby. Kyle and Stan relay this information to Tenorman who comes up with a plan to counter Cartman's involving convincing his parents to go "rescue" the horse that Cartman has been training to bite off Tenorman's penis and then serving Cartman a chili made with Tenorman's pubes at the cook off.

Best part of the episode: The ending when it is revealed that Cartman's entire plan involved Kyle and Stan telling Tenorman about the horse and Tenorman sending his parents to the farm where the horse lives, only for them to be shot on site by the trigger happy farmer whom Cartman had previously warned of "violent pony killers" in the area, after which Cartman ground up Tenorman's parents, made them into chili and served them to Tenorman during the cook off. Once Tenorman realizes his parents are dead, Radiohead shows up and makes fun of him for crying.

Obviously, a lot of amazing episodes didn't make this list as there are so very many. All the same, let me know in the comments below if you agree or disagree with my picks.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
