To The Little Who Came At The Right Time

Thank you for keeping me strong when I wasn't sure how to do so myself and encouraging me to seek the best qualities in others that I value in my own life.

Hey there,

It's time for me to take a moment and tell you how much I appreciate the friendship that we have. It's crazy to think that we barely knew each other a year ago today, and now we are such close friends. Thank you for keeping me strong when I wasn't sure how to do so myself and encouraging me to seek the best qualities in others that I value in my own life. You've been through so much in your short time on this earth and it's so inspiring to see how you carry yourself with such strength and kindness. You teach me something new every day and I will never be able to thank you enough for listening and never failing to make me smile.

Life is constantly changing and nothing is ever guaranteed or predicted in a clear way which is a little bit scary. It's insane to think that we have no idea what tomorrow holds within our own lives as well as maybe even an hour into the future. But I do know that you'll take life by the reigns and do so many amazing things with the time that you have on this earth. You are such a positive light and I hope that you remember that when things get hard, to always keep going. I'm confident in knowing that you will achieve your dreams in life because of how driven you are, and you need to be reminded of that as well.

The most exciting aspect of our friendship is that I'm able to call you my little and one of my best friends. I never expected us to even be friends in the beginning but now I get to call my little sister which is so amazing. I know for a fact that when you're a big, your little is going to be so happy to have you. You're such a caring person who will do anything for anyone which is a quality that is so rare to see these days. Please know that the person you are today is truly amazing and you're growing and evolving daily. You tend to be hard on yourself at times but please take a few minutes sometimes and learn how to appreciate how far you've come.

I'm confident in knowing that we will be best friends for a long time because you're not leaving my life anytime soon. With that said, I'll definitely catch you at my wedding. I hope that you know I'll always be here for you too and I'm only a call away. Anyone that enters your life is extremely lucky to call you a friend. Your strength will translate into the ways that you handle difficult situations as well as how you hold your own throughout your life. It's been amazing seeing you grow and thrive throughout the time that I've been present in your life, and I can't wait to see what else you do.

Love,

Your Big

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
