8 Reasons Why Fall is the Best Season
"Fall"

If you enjoy pumpkin spice lattes, scary movies, and haunted houses then September 22nd is its own special holiday to you; The beginning of fall! I feel like I've been waiting since last December for this. Ever since I was a kid, Fall has been my favorite season. I get excited to see multi-colored leaves scattered on the ground and wear a different flannel every day. I' am not the only Fall obsessed individual. Many people get excited about Fall (cue all of the tweets that have been filling my Twitter timeline). But why is that? Here are a few theories I've created as to why Fall is better than any other season:

1. Movie Marathons

Even if you aren't into horror films, Halloween movie marathons are the best marathons. From Hocus Pocus, to Halloween Town, to The Shining, there's great movies out there that are perfect to watch cuddled up on the couch with some candy corn. If you're most excited because of this, be sure to tune into Freeform's 13 Nights of Halloweenthis October.

2. Pumpkins

Pumpkin patches and Jack O' Lantern carvings are iconic, but let's not forget that Fall means EVERYTHING pumpkin. Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, coffee drinks, and basically anything you can imagine. Pumpkin carving makes for one of the best (and cheapest) dates, and you can even save and eat cooked pumpkin seeds.

3. Fall Style

Sweaters, beanies, and flannels galore. Fall by far has the comfiest yet cutest style trends. There's no worries about having to be tan or having a bikini perfect body. In the Fall you can simply throw a sweatshirt on with your staple pair of black leggings and you're good to go. It feels like wearing pajamas in public!

4. Haunted Houses

Nothing is more fun and frightening than actually walking through a haunted house. Whether it's with a group of your closest girl friends or that cute boy you've had your eye on, a haunted house makes for an exciting night. Even if there are no haunted attractions near you, there's always some spooky abandoned house that has been vacant for years (just don't get in trouble for trespassing).

5. Corn Mazes

Fall doesn't only have great places to go on a date, but it also has so many family friendly activities. My favorite has always been the corn maze. Spending hours trying to get out ends up being hours filled with silliness and laughter. I remember going with friends in elementary school and playing hide and seek in the corn, then in high school we would go at night with a big group of people and do the same thing. It's strange how corn can provide so much fun.

6. Sweets

Fall is the one time of the year where no one judges if you eat an entire pillowcase full of candy. I get a cavity just thinking about the amount of candy corn I plan on eating this year. Not to mention, fall has the best candy. Stores are stock full of cute little pumpkin and eyeball shaped chocolates. Just don't eat too much or you'll regret it come summer.

7. Football

It's the best time of the year, football season. Finally, football starts back up in the Fall. It makes for great family and friend bonding by rooting for your favorite team together either in person or on TV. A big football jersey repping your favorite player on the back shows you mean business. Also, don't forget the chips and dip!

8. Halloween

Halloween is the cherry on top of this Fall sundae. Finding a costume, dressing up with friends, and attending Halloween parties and parades is the best part of this season. Halloween is personally my favorite holiday. It's fun to go trick or treating as a kid and it's even more fun to go out with friends as you get older. This holiday, by far, puts Fall ahead of all of the other seasons.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
