Dorm life is fun!

I remember being super worried about living in a dorm. What if my roommate was crazy? I'm responsible for my own eating schedule now? I had to do my own laundry? I had to use community showers? Living in a dorm seemed awful, but then I actually moved in. Once I got here, I loved my roommate.

There are tons of amazing places to eat on campus. Doing my own laundry is not that bad. Community showers may be a little weird, but you don't run out of hot water. Living in a dorm turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. So, if you're worried about dorm life, read the five best things about living in a dorm.

Having study buddies

There is usually at least one person from your dorm in all your classes. If you have questions on homework all you have to do is knock on their door. Also, it's easy to get together and study with your friends if you all live in the same place. My friends, Sarah and Megan, and I started a Biology study group!

Waking up thirty minutes before class and still being on time

I love to sleep. About everything on campus is between a five-twenty minute walk from my dorm. That means I can get my beauty sleep.

Movie nights

Popcorn, friends, and movies, what more can a girl ask for? Whether we have movie night in the basement or in one of our rooms, it is always full of fun and laughter.

Decorating your door with your roommate

I love decorating. My roommate an I have put up new decorations for all four seasons!

Not having to make random Walmart runs

Have a headache? Need ibuprofen and you're out? You don't have to run to Walmart. Instead, all you have to do is knock on your friends door.

Free Laundry

You don't have to pay fifty cents a load. The washer and dryers in the basement are free to use!

Meeting some of the most amazing friends

I have made incredible friends since I have moved in to my dorm room. These friends help me, encourage me, and inspire me everyday. They help me with homework. We've won Disney Trivia! My friends and I have even started going to sunrise yoga!

I hope after reading this article that you are excited for dorm life! You will make some of the best memories in your dorm!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
