The Holidays are described as the most wonderful time of the year, which couldn't be more true. Here's a few reasons why:
1. Spending time with family
Sure, you might not get along with certain family members, but the beautiful part about being with family during the holidays is that everyone comes together and genuinely wants to be with one another. You want to know about your little cousin's accomplishments that have happened since you were last together, you want to know about family gossip, and you want to brag about the good things going on in your life. Being with family around the holidays is the best!
2. The food
When else during the year is it acceptable to eat so much food so close together? There is nothing better than stuffing your face to your favorite family recipes.
3. Christmas movies
There are tons of quality Christmas movies to get us into the Christmas spirit. Movies like "Elf," "The Santa Clause" series, starring Tim Allen, "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas," "The Polar Express," and others are bound to bring smiles, laughter, and joy each and every time they are watched.
4. Gift giving
Spending time to make or find the perfect gift for your loved ones is an awesome feeling. For people who do not openly say "I love you" very often to their parents, grandparents, best friends, etc, gift giving around the holidays is their way of revealing how much love they have for each other.
5. Sitting by the fireplace with a mug of hot chocolate
Because warming up next to a toasty fire and drinking the best Holiday drink known to mankind, makes everyone feel good.
6. Playing or collapsing in the snow
Playing in the snow is when you take credit for intentionally making snow angels; collapsing is when you think you're too old to play in the snow, so you tell everyone you "fell down." Either way, your inner child comes out, and you embrace the cold weather.
7. Admiring the Christmas tree
Looking back at the ornaments you made as a child often brings back fond memories. Those memories could be making the ornament, or putting the ornaments on the Christmas tree with your parents or grandparents. Either way, a smile magically appears on your face.
8. Christmas carols
It's acceptable to listen and sing along to Christmas songs once a year and that time period
