7 Of The Best One Direction Moments We Haven’t Talked About In Years

I was (and still am) the definition of a "Directioner."

One Direction was one of the best boy bands to happen to my generation, don't fight me on this. I was the definition of a ‘Directioner,' there should have been a picture of me that came up when your parents Googled what the heck that term meant. For no reason at all, I just wanted to take the time to look back on some of the best moments from their earlier days, that we have not (for some unknown reason) talked about in years.

1. The Video Diaries

These were our first look into the lives of the boys throughout ‘The X Factor,' and boy they did not disappoint. I remember my best friend and I being able to quote these word for word (sorry not sorry to everyone we went to middle school with). These videos were where we first learned how quirky and awkward all of them could be in any situation.

2. The Adventurous Adventures of One Direction

If you did not watch these animated YouTube videos, you haven't really lived. These classic animations were created by YouTuber Mark Parsons, who took relevant things going on at that time and made them into jokes using the wonderful guys of One Direction. He did all the animation and the voices for them, which was absolutely hilarious.

3. When Simon Cowell made them into a band (thank you, Simon)

Literally one of the best things to ever happen to me. Although the time this actually happened I had not heard of the boys of The X Factor for that matter. Once their first hit single, ‘What Makes You Beautiful' hit the states I was hooked for years. So thank you, Simon Cowell for doing possibly the best thing you have ever done, and giving me, and everyone else, One Direction.

4. The music videos, literally all of them

They were always so HYPE. I remember running in my house when I got home from school on days they came out to watch the videos ASAP! I also watched them several times so I could focus on a different boy each time because it mattered that much.

5. Niall with and without his braces

He was our precious little baby with them, and he was still a precious little baby with straighter teeth without them. Either way, everything about Niall made you love him (don't get me wrong though, Harry Styles was and still is my man).

6. 1D Day!!!

A seven-hour live stream leading up to the release of their third album, Midnight Memories, full of shenanigans. What else would you have expected from them? From meeting fans to wrestling the boys did everything and more in these seven hours of nonsense, that we all loved.

7. Them singing ‘The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air' theme song

I literally watched this video a thousand times when I first found it, then I also set it as my ringtone at the time, because I thought it was PURE GOLD. When Zayn hits the "and you're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air," I may have cried the first time. It's just so good.

Clearly, the band accomplished way bigger things than any of this, but it's always fun to reflect on the smaller things that people do sometimes. Although, I am not really sure why we stopped talking about any of these gems, so let's not do that again.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
