Best Night Of My Life

The best night of my life told by a teddy bear.

Best Night Of My Life
Mollie Mulvey

I was planning on telling the story of the best night of my life, but now isn't the time to share it so publically, so I've instead decided to write it from the perspective of a bear. Don't look into the symbolism too much, but enjoy it for what it is.

Teddy the Bear lived in Arden Forest. This forest was filled with lots of fantastic things: animals of all shapes and sizes from Tom Cats, whose only objective was causing trouble, to Puff the Dragons, who were big fans of their fairy dust. However, Teddy's neck of the woods was not as diverse; there were only bears.

There was Teddy: a teddy bear. There was Brock: a brown bear. And there was Stefon: a gummy bear.

Once a year, all of the creatures of the forest got together to see one another and have a good time; this event was called Pron. Some animals liked Pron, like the bears. Some animals loved Pron, like the Cougars. And there were a few that hated it too, like the *insert species of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh (I'm really not sure)*.

This year, Teddy asked a Blue Jay to Pron. His best friend, Brock, asked a Cougar. And Stefon was rolling stag, but kept making inappropriate eye contact with a chaperone. Classic Stefon.

The night of the Pron had arrived, and all was well. Picture perfect. Nothing wrong. But then the "after event" came. The after event was at Karen's tree; Karen was Brock's date. Teddy was not there when the dragons showed up, but Brock was. No one knew the dragons were coming to the after event. And when Teddy arrived, he could tell the fire nation attacked. Black Bears spread across the forest floor, unconscious. Wildcats running around howling at the moon, thinking they were coyotes. The Wolves of the West trying to look cool, thinking they were Panthers.

Brock the Bear was crying in another room because Karen the Cougar had a little too much of another Bear's honey. So Teddy and his date, Bailey the Blue Jay, in an attempt to cheer Brock up, took him to his favorite place in the forest: Taco Ball. Teddy and Brock sang their favorite songs in the parking lot, while Bailey laughed at the sight. Bailey and Teddy made a plan behind Brock's back: they were going to go back to the after event to see if it had gotten less hectic, and maybe stay.

The forest friends got back only to find Eagles had come to take care of all the members of the after event. The Eagles told Teddy and Bailey that they had to help, and couldn't socialize. Teddy and Bailey hadn't socialized all night, and so they decided to help by taking the rest of the honey at the party and dumping it all behind a QuikTrip on the way back to their side of the forest.

The forest friends went to a nearby field, and let Brock finish crying as they listened to Bear Sheeran. Brock went to sleep. Teddy and Bailey were left to reminisce. They talked for a long time. They slowly fell asleep to wake up 3 hours later for a big bear breakfast.

Teddy realized that the adventure of that night was so much better without socializing, and best spent with his best friend, Brock, and his date, Bailey. He found a friend he could trust and love, and a date that was willing to put up with him. It was the best night. Teddy's favorite night.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
