Since "Full House" was undoubtedly one of the best TV shows of my childhood, I was both anxious and excited about this new spinoff. As a hardcore fan, I was excited to see where everyone in the family ended up. However, I also was worried that this new show wouldn't live up to my expectations. Good thing I was completely wrong about "Fuller House."
This new show gave me a sense of nostalgia, but also added a fresh new look on the storyline. I had noticed it being a bit more cheesy than normal, but what's" Full House" without the sappy life lessons?
Here are some of my favorite moments from the first episode. (Even though I may or may not be almost done with the whole season). Fingers crossed Netflix brings this back with more episodes!
1. The old theme song in the beginning.
Besides those sappy life lessons, Full House is distinguishable by their beginning. It was nice to see that old one brought back for the first episode, and then re-vamped a little for the modern day. It definitely brought back the feels.
2. Although Danny Tanner didn't get better with age, Uncle Jessie definitely did.
3. And so did Aunt Becky.
I only hope that in 29 years, I can look as good as her.
4. But I could've dealt without Stephanie's British accent.
I was so relieved when I only had to take five minutes of that accent. If she continued with it, it could've easily ruined the show.
5. But the undoubtedly best part was when they burned Michelle for running her "fashion empire in New York."
The look to the camera was just icing on the cake. Take that, Olsen twins.
6. Big fan of the subtle similarities.
In the original "Full House," it was Danny Tanner whose wife died, forcing him to become a single parent and ask for parenting help from his brother-in-law and best friend. Now, it's DJ who is now a single parent and needs help. It's the small stuff like this that makes this new show better than ever.
7. The feels come back when Uncle Jessie and Stephanie sing "Forever" as a duet.
8. The family helps to deliver Comet Junior Junior's puppies.
9. Old sayings.
"How rude," "Have mercy," and "Cut it out," all still have a place in my heart.
10. Finally, the side by side video of the whole gang singing "The Flintstones: theme song.
And 29 years later, nothing has really changed.
