Coffee + Bellingham = heaven on earth.
Bellingham, Washington, is known for its charm, uniqueness and, of course, its coffee. I am a huge coffee snob. Coffee shop hopping is one of my favorite pastimes, so of course, I have explored a variety of coffee shops since moving to Bellingham.
Here are my top seven.
1. Avellino.
This spot is located right in the heart of downtown on 1329 Railroad Ave. The prices are fair, the bakery and food items are amazing (some vegan options), and the overall atmosphere is welcoming and quaint.
2. Black Drop.
This spot is located on 300 W Champion St. The walls are painted turquoise and have funky artwork on them and all around the shop. This coffee house has a lot of fun drinks such as a French Toast Latte.
3. Camber.
Don’t even get me started on this shop. All in all, I am in love. I have spent way too much money here and will continue to do so. This coffee shop is fairly new to Bellingham and is located at 221 W Holly St. This spot has a more fancy feel to it and the prices are a little more on the pricey side. The coffee shop serves food items, coffee, tea and even wine. They even have a happy hour that features some of the food items half off. Despite higher prices, it is worth it.
4. Primer Coffee.
Located on 1400 W Holly St., this coffee shop has a very modern, cozy aesthetic. The whole shop is brightened from natural light and is extremely inviting. They even serve waffles — a major plus.
5. Firehouse Cafe.
Located on 314 Harris Ave, this coffee shop/theater is a hidden gem of Bellingham. There is a big fireplace that is usually on that totally composes the aesthetic. The coffee is great and the prices are inexpensive. Not to mention, the staff is so friendly and always open for conversation. It is also a theater! They put on a variety of shows over the course of the year.
6. Lettered Streets Coffee.
Located on 1001 Dupont St, this spot has become my go-to place to study, meet with friends or read. Not going to lie, the coffee is to die for. This is the definition of a local coffee shop.
7. Woods Coffee.
Oh, how could we forget our beloved Woods? No matter what, Woods coffee will always hold a special place in my heart. My favorite Bellingham location is located at Boulevard Park on the water. Have you tried the Bellingham Fog? If not, go, go right now. RUN.
