Sephora is every girl's dream; wall to wall lined with blush, eyeshadow palettes, and lipsticks. But, once you fill your bag and reach the register, the dream quickly turns into a nightmare, and your total owed is responsible for the sudden change in dream dynamic. While we love brands like MAC or Urban Decay, no college girls bank account can deal with the hit it would take if we used only these name brands. Drugstore brands are the solution. Here are my favorite drugstore beauty products that I've tried.
1. Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Eyeshadow Palette, $7
This twelve shade palette has both mattes and glittery eye shadows, that range from nudes, to pinks, to deeper grey/purple shades.
2. Real Technique blending sponge, $7
Perfect alternative to the beauty blender, for $13 cheaper.
3. Maybelline Volum' Express The Colossal Mascara, $5
Gives you natural-looking lashes, but with great volume, and you can't beat the price point.
4. Maybelline Master Precise Jet Black Eyeliner, $7
Another Maybelline product. For those of you who are challenged at using liquid liner, this is an easy liner to handle.
5. True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator, $13
Okay I lied, this one's not under $10. But it is still relatively cheap, and this product is long-lasting and worth the extra three dollars. Really lightweight highlighting and contouring powder that illuminates the skin.
6. Neutrogena Makeup Wipes, $8
Effectively removes makeup and leaves your skin feeling refreshed.
7. Ready, Set, Gorgeous Covergirl Concealer, $8
For a girl with eternal dark circles under my eyes, this product is God sent.
8. NYX Bright Idea Illuminating Stick, $8
I have the "Maui" stick, which is great for contouring and blends so easily into the skin.
9. Skintimates Shaving Cream, $3
BEST SHAVING CREAM EVER.
10. Covergirl Lashblast Volume Mascara, $7
Another mascara that gives great volume. Bonus: It's waterproof.
11. Garnier Fructis Sleek& Shine Serum, $5
Smooths out frizzy hair super easily.
12. NYX Lipsticks, $6-7
I've loved every lip color I've bought from NYX, so I couldn't pick just one. The Lingerie Lip Line is a great collection of nudes, but I love the "Embellishment" because it has a cool purple undertone and lasts FOREVER. The Liquid Suede line is easy to apply and has a softer feel to it.
