1. Pizza House
Give it up for Our Lord and Savior, Pizza House! I can tell you with total confidence that Pizza House has saved my life at least once my freshman year. With their deliciously thick, Chicago-style pizza crusts and their mountains of gooey cheese, there's no other place I go when I'm looking for the best pizza in town. An added bonus is that they deliver free after 10 p.m., which is when the majority of students order Pizza House. If you haven't tried their Feta Bread and milkshakes yet, then you haven't lived!
2. Pizza Bob's
Located in a little hole in the wall on South Campus by the stadium, Pizza Bob's doesn't seem like anything special when you walk in. But as soon as you taste their pizza (or cheesy bread) you'll realize how great this place is. The pizza tastes like something you'd eat in a small town, 24-hour diner – quality and care put into the making of it, but nothing too fancy, either. The old Formica counter with 1950's, diner-style swivel chairs really add to the overall aesthetic of the restaurant. Plus, Pizza Bob's serves up some of the best milkshakes in Ann Arbor!
3. Neopapalis
Serving a different style of pizza than the rest of the places on this list, Neopapalis' wood fired, flatbread like pizza come in pretty high on my list. Neopapalis serves distinctly different pizzas with your choice of many fresh ingredients. The first time I had their pizza it was cold leftovers, but it was so good that I had to run there and get a pizza the next chance I got!
4. Domino's
I'm adding Domino's to the list because it has a location on central campus (right next to the IM building), and my little Michigan heart wouldn't let me pass up an opportunity to add it. Domino's pizza has been a staple at every school function and sporting event for the last 19 years, so you could say I'm an expert of Domino's pizza at this point.
5. Cottage Inn Pizza
An Ann Arbor staple, Cottage Inn Pizza serves New York style pizza at a caliber slightly above the previous restaurants I mentioned. The crust is slightly thicker and less soggy, and the cheese is gooey instead of paper-like. Their selection of toppings is admirable, also. Cottage Inn pizza is dangerously greasy, though, and I've gotten grease stains on a couple of my shirts while eating their pizza. Despite its grease, I'd still recommend eating Cottage Inn pizza when it's inevitably offered to you at every club's mass meeting.
6. South U Pizza
This pizza tastes almost identical to pizza from NYPD, but due to its ideal location on South University Street, I'm rating it higher than NYPD due to its pure convenience.
7. NYPD
This pizza tastes like your typical mall pizza – with its soggy crust that is too thin for its own good, and cheese that tastes eerily similar to biting into a sheet of paper. It's nothing special.
