90s Cartoons Wiki

As a 90’s kid, I will always have a love for the cartoons I watched growing up. Our generation was really the last of the good cartoons. With the way the media is today and the things we can no longer air on television, some of our favorite 90’s cartoons would never be allowed to air on prime networks such as Disney, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network etc. in today's world. The 1990’s were full of some of the best cartoons, but what were some of the very best of the best? And what are some of the fun facts we didn't know about them?

"The Ren & Stimpy Show"— "The Ren & Stimpy Show" was one of the “original three” Nicktoons, along with "Rugrats" and "Doug."

"It stays crunchy, even in milk. I may not be the President, I may not be the Pope... but as long as I have Gritty Kitty, I shall never mope." -Ren

"Rocko’s Modern Life"— "Rocko’s Modern Life" was based off a wallaby the author saw at the zoo.

"SPUNKY!!!" -Rocko

"The Power Puff Girls"— Mojo Jojo was voiced by the character Ghostface from "Scream."

“Sugar, Spice, and everything nice. These were the ingredients chosen to make the perfect little girls.” -Narrator

"Doug"— Doug Funnie's neighbors, the Dinks, actually have a meaning behind their last name (D. I. N. K) “double income, no kids.”

“Dear Journal, hi! It's me, Doug.” -Doug

"Aaahh!!! Real Monsters"— The show’s existence is thanks to the success of the "Rugrats."

“Hey, Krumm, I think you're having a bad hair day.” -Ikis

"Angry Beavers"— This was the 7th entry into the Nicktoons series lineup.

“What in the name of Jonas Grumby's starched khakis was that?” -Norbet

"Rugrats"—: The Rugrats creators are behind the "Simpsons" signature yellow skin and Marge’s blue hair.

“You Babies are so dumb, I'm surprised you even know which end of the bottle to suck!” -Angelica

"Hey Arnold"— This was the first Nickelodeon Cartoon to use child actors.

“Move it football head!” -Helga

"Dexter’s Laboratory"— This was the first original animated series in Cartoon Network history.

"DeeDee!! Get out of my laboratory!!!!!" -Dexter

"Johnny Bravo"— The creator was roommates in college with the creators of "Dexter’s Laboratory" and "The Powerpuff Girls."

"Hey Foxy Mama, You smell kinda pretty. Wanna smell me? Hoohah!" -Johnny Bravo

"Ed, Edd, ‘n’ Eddy"— The tongue colors were inspired by Antonucci's (the creator) son and his friends eating multi-colored candies.

"Eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs..." -Ed

"Courage the Cowardly Dog"— The names Muriel and Eustace are taken from the middle names of Chandler Bing and Ross Geller of Friends.

“Stupid dog! You made me look bad!” -Eustace

"Rocket Power"— The reason Sam’s shirt has an N on it was because he was supposed to be from New York, not Kansas.

“Woogie, Woogie, Woogie, Woogie.”

"Kablam!"—This cartoon was filmed in “chuckimation” which was a type of animation created by the makers of the show.

“Hello, Kablam-oids!” -Henry

"Wild Thornberry’s"— Eliza Thornberry was played by Gretchen Wieners of "Mean Girls," Lacey Chabert.

“This is me, Eliza Thornberry, part of your average family. I’ve got a dad, a mom, and a sister. There is Donnie – we found him and Darwin.. he found us!”

These cartoons sum of the best of the best from the 1990's. I hope you enjoyed traveling back in time and reminiscing on some of the best cartoons!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
