Youtube is an ever growing community and a booming business for the popular creators. If you needs answers or how to do anything, chances are, it's on Youtube. The beauty community has blown up in size in the past year, but so many have creating for years. Many of these Youtubers quit their jobs and invest everything into their channel. You can find tutorials on specific makeup looks or a technique, reviews on new, hyped products and tools, testing out weird products and anything they can relate to makeup.

1. NikkiTutorials

One of the OG youtubers has been producing talented content for years. She has over 600 videos and 7 million subscribers. On her channel you can view videos on trending tags (BF does my makeup, full face using, ect.), testing out the most hyped releases, monthly favorites and disappointments, and in depth tutorials- hence the name. She is known for not being the perfect cookie cutter girl and always being a normal girl doing her makeup.

2. GlamLifeGuru

Tati Westbrook is one of the most devoted creators; she has over 1.1k videos and always releases a minimum of three videos a week. Her hard work has paid off and she has 3 million devoted subscribers. She is know for her weekly series like WTF which includes bizarre or overly expensive items and OMG which is similar but is more items that are super popular or inventive products. She also does tutorials, unboxings of makeup sent to her and trending tags. She always keeps it honest on her channel and will tell it how it is.


3. ThaTaylaa

Taylor is not as popular but her content quality is up to par. She has over 500 videos and almost 400 thousand subscribers. She is unique to other creators because she is extremely fair skinned and has chronic, cystic ache. She does the usual reviews and tutorials and "Shadows and Shmooze". The main focus of her channel content is foundations; she tries to find foundations that are actually full coverage and keeps he oils at bay. Every few months she will do her series, "15 Days Of Foundation" where she tests a new foundation, everyday, for 15 days; all of her reviews are very through and shows wear times up to 10 hours. She also focuses on finding products out there for the pale skin princesses.


4. Jackie Aina

Jackie is one of the most outspoken Youtubers around, and very well respected for it! She has over 700 videos and 1.5 million subscribers. She focuses on representing woman of color and finding products that truly are "deep". She is brutally honest but sometimes that is a necessity. She loves testing out new products and doing a typical tutorial- but blows us all away every time.


5. Manny Mua

Manny Gutierrez is one of the largest faces for men doing makeup- and rocking it! He is newer to the Youtube realm but already has over 200 videos and 3.5 million subscribers. He loves reviewing weird or new products and doing tutorials- duh! He is unashamed of being a man in the makeup world and laughs at the hate he receives. He is unapologetic about himself and remains positive in all his videos.


The makeup community is ever growing and it can be quite overwhelming when first joining. There are numerous talented people out there all willing to teach!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
