5 Benefits Of Being Ugly

There are a lot more benefits than you think!

Do you or a loved one suffer from ugliness? When guys approach you, do they only talk to you to get closer to your sister? When you ask people out, do they shudder, cringe, and/or scream for help? Me too! But fear life no more, here are some perks of being unattractive.

1. No one hits on you

No catcalls, no random guys sliding into your DMs, and NO DRAMA. Honestly, who doesn't want to be ugly? Personally, my friends constantly tell me how annoying it is when guys stare at them, wink at them, comment on their bodies, and remind them how beautiful they are. Good thing I have no idea what this feels like, I can imagine this being a nuisance.

2. Shopping is a breeze

So, you want to fix your ugliness by fooling people into thinking that you're fashionable and stylish. Too bad that no amount of Calvin Klein or Tommy Hilfiger can alter your face or body shape. Why even attempt to look trendy when you'll still resemble a deformed cockroach after blowing all of your money on Versace? You might as well save your money by thrifting or shopping at Target for much cheaper. You can basically buy anything and still look unappealing. What an awesome power you have!

3. You're used to rejection

Still no matches on Tinder? Not a problem, it doesn't even bother you anymore because you're so accustomed to no one swiping right when they first glance at the horrible monstrosity that is your face. Normal, attractive people usually get pretty bummed when they get rejected, but not you. Therefore, you're emotionally stronger than most.

4. You're not gullible

Did someone just call you cute? If they did, you know to jump to these two accurate conclusions: 1.) they're blind or 2.) they're being dared by their friends to see your reaction. You already know not to fall under the false impression that you may actually attract someone.

5. You don't have to be used to change

You can diet, cake on makeup, and go under plastic surgery all you want, nothing will ever make you remotely good looking. Believe me, I know from experience. When my friends just wear their typical sweatpants and no makeup looks, guys flock to them. When I straighten my hair, follow makeup tutorials, slip on skinny jeans (by the way I don't really "slip on" jeans since my love handles get in the way of anything ever fitting my body correctly), no one bats an eye. Be blessed that you're ugly, you get to live a comfortable life of no one looking at you!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
