I Don't Believe In Astrology Because I'm Such A Taurus

Any reputable scientific publication can tell you that the logic behind astrology is woefully incorrect and that there are actually 13 constellations,so no one is right about theirs, anyway. Any human with a functioning brain should be able to let you know that the time of year a person is born determines next to nothing about their personality, particularly in relation to the cosmos. But I, a firm Taurus, am able to give you a unique perspective on the faulty trappings of astrology due to my trademark characteristics, as listed below.

I am dependable.

Is this the face of someone who would flake on you about this? Of course not, because I am a Taurus, and we are known for our trustworthiness. I never let people down about anything, including being right about how astrology is nonsense.

I am stubborn.

Listen, when it comes down to it, I'm not budging on this. Being born between April 20 and May 20 means that I cannot be corrected when I've made my mind up about something. In this case that thing is astrology, which I don't believe in. A random cluster of stars determining my personality and what's going to happen to me? Not hardly.

I am generous.

As a Taurus, I'm a giver. I give. I once gave a guy my lunch because he looked sad. He didn't even have to ask. He also didn't have to eat it, which he didn't, or yell, "Why did you set down a 10-pound watermelon in front of me, weirdo?" I know what he meant. So accept this gift of me making you aware of the faultiness of horoscopes, which are purposefully vague and could be stretched to apply to any person's life regardless of when their birthday is.

I am patient.

We Tauruses have all the time in the world to spend explaining simple remedial ideas to the non-believers. Just like Sam Smith, a fellow Taurus, I want you to stay with me on this concept. The wildly variant personalities of twins should prove that there isn't some calendar-based uniformity in character traits.

I am possessive.

Tauruses don't mess around with our possessions, and as my readers, I demand that you give me your trust on this and believe that astrology isn't real. I will become very jealous of your ideologies if you pick them over me.

I am persistent.

I'm never gonna give you up. I'm never gonna let you down. I'm never gonna turn around or desert the proof that people's personalities are determined by genetics and upbringing, not by when they are born. As long as it takes, I will be there, because Tauruses will go for what they want until the end of time, just like how Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson didn't give up on acting.

Are you convinced? Comment to let me know!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
