Being An Upperclassmen In Greek Life As Told By "Jersey Shore"

When you're an older member in a Sorority or Fraternity, it's sometimes stress with all the responsibilities that you have in the chapter and school. And it's only appropriate to have Jersey Shore show us what it's like to be an upperclassmen.

Being An Upperclassmen In Greek Life As Told By "Jersey Shore"

When you're an upperclassmen of your chosen Greek organization, you might feel like you're living the life. You could be on cloud nine, but there's other responsibilities that go along with being an older member.

1. You walk into chapter, knowing your class runs this

You walk into the chapter room before chapter and you say to yourself and friends, "you know these girls look up to us". Even when you roll up to chapter after attendance was taken, you know you'll be counted as there.

2. When someone has a good idea, and you disagree

You hear someone make a comment, but you begin to clap at what they say. You think that the idea isn't worthy of being discussed, but you listen anyway.

3. You make ridiculous comments

You make a comment and some of the chapter looks at you with death glares. But, when you're an upperclassmen you think that you are invincible, you've done your time.

4. You know the younger sisters look up to you

You start to think that you're a good member when you know the younger members begin to look up to you. You know how to be yourself and you hope by being yourself, you'll show the new girls how to rock your personality.

5. Point in the semester when you stop caring

When you've hit the "I'm too old for this" or you think what's really going to happen when you go alum. You hit the time of the year when you're waiting to go home for Thanksgiving break.

6. You have the stories to tell

You know that with the stories you have, you could write a novel. You can't help it that you always make good memories, but when you do they are definitely ones for the books.

7. You have a breakdown about your BFFs going Alum

You think back to when you were a new member of the chapter and here, two years later, you have some of you best friends leaving the chapter or graduating. You begin to cry at their last formal or fall fling because you can't imagine staying in the chapter without them.

8. You look forward to Senior Wills

You know that with your friends being older, you will get most of their shirts that you can pass down to your Littles. With all of the sisters you're close with, you start fist-pumping thinking about what it means for you.

9. You think about what has happened this year

You think of the times when you had a breakdown, but then you remember the better memories that you had and the friendships that you made. Every tear represents every good memory you had that made you tear up because you realized you're so close to being an old member.

10. And then you kiss the year and memories goodbye

This year was full of memories and some regret, but you wouldn't want to change it any other way. You look forward to the future and what the next years bring.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
