I'm all about body positivity and I'm against weight shaming (to a point), but it's not hard to realize when enough is enough.
The movement for body positivity is great, don't get me wrong. I'm a plus size girl and I'm all for "thick thighs save lives", but while we may look good to some guys (and girls) and bless them with thicc-ness, we're putting ourselves at risk. I completely understand that it's important to be comfortable and feel beautiful in your own skin BUT there comes a time where people become too comfortable with it and keep packing on the weight.
Women are constantly judged about their weight and that will probably never stop, but some deserve to be judged. They deserved to be called out for how unhealthy they are and/or how unflattering something may look on them. Yes, they already know it but they refuse to make any changes. They complain about being bullied, clothes not fitting, joke about not being in shape when they're huffing and puffing going upstairs, but the majority DON'T DO ANYTHING. It's honestly annoying.
What makes it more annoying is that people have the audacity to defend them against other people who are seeing things clearly. They'll tell them "you're beautiful just the way you are", "don't change a thing", and all that. While they may be pretty in the face or whatever, NO. Do NOT encourage people to stay unhealthy. It's bullshit and honestly, these people that are so "supportive" are part of the problem.
The only thing these women, and men are doing is shortening their life-span. Being overweight affects your health SO much and it's a fact that a lot of people ignore. It affects your blood, your cholesterol, your organs - more specifically your lungs and HEART --take a look. I dare you.
^If you or someone you know is overweight/obese, that's your/their heart with all that fatty tissue. THAT inhibits the heart from doing its job to keep your blood flowing to keep you alive.
You want to be more confident and ACTUALLY feel better? Change your habits. Put down whatever your binge-worthy food is. Exercise. Find a pace that works for you, as long as the pace actually gets you somewhere. Save yourself and add on a few years.
Like I said, I'm a plus size girl, curvy, size 14-16 (depending on brand), all that jazz, but I've opened my eyes and I'm making progress (so far, slowly but surely). I'm bettering myself and my health.
SO instead of encouraging people to make their lives worse, encourage them to save themselves.
If you got heated by this, I'm not sorry.
