It's a known fact that the older you get, the less fun your summer becomes. As you get older, your summer begins to be less about playing with friends and more about making money in a minimum wage job so you're not completely broke. However, like everything else, summer still has its perks.

1. When you realize you only have two weeks to get your "beach body".

Off to the gym you go!

2. When you run into someone from high school.

Have you ever been in a store and saw someone from high school that you did not like? And instead of being an adult and saying hi to them, you turned down a random aisle hoping to God that they didn't follow you down that aisle? No? Just me? OK.

3. Discovering new hobbies with your free time.

I mean, when you're not going to the beach, hanging out with friends, sitting by a pool, or working, what better way to spend your free time is there than learning a new skill?

4. Being reunited with your friends from home!

This is the best. When you haven't seen your friends from home since Christmas, and you see each other for the first time, there is so much catching up to do!

5. Having to wake up early when you want to sleep in.

Really, this one can relate to any time of the year.

6. Receiving an email from school.

Especially if it's the bill...

7. Having plenty of time to catch up on the shows you missed at school!

This is something I do a lot!

8. Realizing that it is August and that summertime is almost over.

Well, it's almost time to get back to reality.

Well, there you have it! Eight "The Office" gifs that perfectly sum up almost everyone's feelings during the summertime!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
